The Central Processing drive nestled in a complex web of cables and wires, grime and grit crusting several access ports. The entire thing looked like it had been plucked from the history books, back when CP├óÔé¼Ôäós were makeshift, rambling affairs made in some inventor├óÔé¼Ôäós basement. Fet sneered, his muzzle cracking to reveal teeth he sharpened religiously. Customs officers kept demanding that he update his engines, his protocols, his computer subsystems, his life support. But he knew better: underneath the grit and the wires and the junk was a perfectly tuned machine. But no one looked underneath├óÔé¼┬ªand that came in handy more often than he had ever anticipated.

The CP shuddered. Fet patted it, his other hand stabbing at the keys of the navi-console. Explorer law said that all navigational charts were to turned in after a scouting run├óÔé¼┬ªbut Fet had sorta not exactly been keeping up with the regs, per se.

He had five charts in his computer. Five new star systems, and with the war footing everyone was on, withholding those charts could be considered, well, a tad treasonous.

And so, he sat in the outskirts of Explorer space, trying to think of a way he could sell the charts and not get hauled before the Committee for Wartime Economy. He clicked his teeth and tapped his tail against the back of his chair. Wartime. Still didn├óÔé¼Ôäót seem real. And yet, in the news, every day there were more stories about fighting on planets that he and others like him had visited.

The CP sparked. Fet jumped in his seat and spun it around. The CP in the back of his ship sparked again, smoke filling the room. ├óÔé¼┼ôOh gristle,├óÔé¼┬Ø Fet swore. He reached for the emergency stop plug on his console. He grabbed it and├óÔé¼┬ªthe CP flashed, fizzed and Fet├óÔé¼Ôäós ship ceased to exist.

Instantaneously, and five minutes later (physicists still disagreed on how long a transit actually was) Fet├óÔé¼Ôäós ship appeared somewhere else. An enormous blue green planet loomed in his camera sights and Fet screamed loudly, yanking back on his yoke, slamming his foot down on the throttle as warning klaxons and lights flashed and blared.

├óÔé¼┼ôI KNOW! I KNOW!├óÔé¼┬Ø Fet shouted over the klaxon. He slammed his fist down on his console and shut some of the things up, but the sounds still blared and hammered at his ear holes. Then his orbital path stabilized. The ship stopped shaking, the alarms stopped blaring and he got out of his chair, stooped over to the CP and kicked it viciously.

It sparked and shuddered and almost spat him halfway across the universe before he yanked the emergency stop plug from his console. He waggled the stop plug at the CP. ├óÔé¼┼ôNo moving.├óÔé¼┬Ø

A moment later, his navi-console bleeped. Fet turned and stooped over that. It├óÔé¼Ôäós blue glow lit his face and he started typing at the keys, claws clacking. ├óÔé¼┼ôLets see├óÔé¼┬ªwhere are we├óÔé¼┬ª├óÔé¼┬Ø

He flicked his nictatic membranes down over his eyes for a moment and typed in the command key to scan for new CP transit paths. The computer started to whirr and click, using scanner feeds and geometic data to figure out how many transit paths the star system had. It bleeped and Fet nodded. A single transit point usually needed about-

Bleep. Two transit points? Fet opened his mouth to apologize to his CP for-

Bleep. Bleep. He closed his mouth with a clack.

Bleep. Bleep. Bleep. Bleep. Bleep. Bleep. Bleep. Bleep.

Fet sat down as the bleeping continued. After what felt like forever, but was really little more than five seconds, the bleeping ended. Fet closed his membranes again and pinched himself hard enough to chip a scale. But when he opened his eyes, it was still true.

This single planet had over forty transit pathways on it. Ten of them were to valuable planets, seven of those were currently being fought over, and the rest could go anywhere!

He pressed a button on his computer. It whirred and clicked one last time and came up with his potential profits.

A very large number came out. Fet├óÔé¼Ôäós tail lifted. The computer clicked and added a few more zeros to that.

He stood up. Stretched. Sighed.

├óÔé¼┼ôWOOHOOOO!├óÔé¼┬Ø

###

The Explorers have discovered a vital planet in the hitherto unexplored Vetal B star system. This planet is what is known as a ├óÔé¼┼ôPortal Planet├óÔé¼┬Ø and has up to twenty times as many CP transit lanes as most planets . This particular planet is unique in that it is strategically located, and has enough resources to make a permanent settlement viable. In peace time, this planet would have become a trading hub to rival any in the galaxy├óÔé¼┬ª

Now, it has become a battlefield.

Explorer Objectives: You have been put in command of the 52nd Explorer Defense Force. Your objective is to hold the lower part of the map and keep the invading reactionaries from capturing this vital location of the Portal Planet. Experience has shown that Terrestrials hit hard and hit fast, so be ready to hold your ground. You only need to hold until their moral drops or reinforcements arrive. Good fighting soldier.

Terrestrialist Objectives: You are commanding the 1st Attack Battalion of the Terrestrialist Exploratory Division, or TED. You have to push the Explorers out of their positions before they get dug in like the bloodsucking ticks they are. They have been on the defensive for now, so use that to your advantage, keep them on it. Good luck.

Map: Altored Divide

Gametype: Capture the Point.

Rules: The Explorers must hold their half of the map for a quarter of an hour or until the tickets run out.

Heros: None

Perks: None

Define "hold their half". Do you mean if any enemies get into their base area they lose?

Not really, it will most likely depend on tickets.

Too bad you missed the campaign battle... :-)

At any rate, thank all of you for your support and the overwhelming interest I received.

Next campaign battle will be same time, same place. I will be posting the replay of the battle on http://evolutionrts.info soon.

Thanks!

mhm...
I loaded the mod, updated it and renamed the EvolutionRTS_Installer_Version.sd7 to EvolutionRTS_Chapter1.sd7
but it says me everytime I want to look the replay, that the gameversion differs from the host's mod.

Where can I get that "correct" version (at least to look the rep) of the mod?

DIdn't see the post above...

THe main game and chapter versions are seperate

the reason for this is that for some of the missions have to intentionally break things.
