SimBase?

Post by GBscientist »

Is SimBase still under active development, or has it been dropped. Either way, what is the latest version and where can I download it?

Latest is the .5 you can get in the installer. Peet has plans for its future but isn't working on it ATM.

It's also available here. I'm currently not sure whether I'll be working on it more or starting a new project.

Either way a bugfix version for the nanos is mostly dependent on me or some other random person getting around to it.

Simbase.
When i saw the name first i thought it would be something totaly different.
I thought it would be like settlers or something similair.
I wonder,Is it very hard to create a-life for spring?
Like give a few units some basic possibilities and charactaristics and the ability to pass its own set to its offspring with a slight mutation in the stats.
There can be aggressivness(chance of initiating an attack),friendliness(not attacking and "calling" enemy units tojoin your group)maybe stats for speed,hp etc and things like favorite spots on the map.
The will to upgrade yourself(morph) (that can be represented by a percantage to to get into roaming mod and become very aggressive per a few minuts).
They also need a sense of self preservation than can be reprsented by the will to retreat when hp is low or when there are multiple enemies in radar range and so on.
each player can get a group of these thingies and a special unit that when it dies you lose.
you can only control only that unit,
The group of simple units is not under your control, they do as they please.
They can "eat" have a special place fro procriation(like a radius around a geo spot)and other thing.
The human player's job is to guide them by building buildings that do different things and placing marks that give a certain area a special importance and makes the units develop a tendency to go there.
The purpose is to best direct them in building an empire and killing the other team .
there can be a stat or aset of them to represent the will to help the collective by assisting build and harvesting resources.
they can also be scripted to have a statthat represents a chance to start imitating the actions of other members in a group in certain situations.
the main unit can also act as a guide to imprint certain stats or scripts onto units by them imitating it.

Yan was the name you picked. It's not like you've moved to a new name, your main forum account and lobby account don't even match. So people just use yan to refer to you.

Because using the old name for you keeps your identity together and new people will know that all these idiocies were committed by the same person.

It was YAN by the way. I'm quite sure he spelled it in capital letters.

Could one of the forum moderators please lock or clean up this thread? It has deviated significantly from its intended purpose.
