Im more interested in seeing what those cubes actually do!
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
look like capture points of some kind since you can see unopened one in the background of the pic... and the one with units near it is open

i really want to know what the difference is between open and closed bad ass cubes
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
My guess was the closed ones are parked/inactive. the floating ones are moving or otherwise active.clericvash wrote:i really want to know what the difference is between open and closed bad ass cubes
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
Well I tested it on that water surrounded version of altored divided, wich is around the same size as altored. Im never sure of anything tough :) And my pc is broken (writing from somewhere else) so I cant look now.Argh wrote:What maps are you playing? I haven't had any problems with map size, unless you're playing on something uber-tiny, like Darkside Remake. It's not like Snipers, who have a range of only 900, can shoot across the entire board, or whatever.

They're a superweapon. They slowly drive your enemy insane.
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
I bet that they are launcheable and that then they land they open thenselfes and become or release a unit...
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55

The Resistance MegaConstructor. Model and paint by me.
Now I just need to get the radar done... a few minor things, like reworking the UI again... and I'm ready. Finally.

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
I think that what seens to be the units front is actually the back :) maybe it builds pointing its back to the thing tough...

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
I answered that a while ago. You use them to turn all your units into autobots and the enemy units into decepticons. But save one! Because eventually a leader-bot will emerge for each side, and the only way to kill it is by fusing it with one of the cubes.clericvash wrote:Well yeah...but what they hell do they do lol, it's bugging the crap out of me!SinbadEV wrote:My guess was the closed ones are parked/inactive. the floating ones are moving or otherwise active.clericvash wrote:i really want to know what the difference is between open and closed bad ass cubes

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
You guys are gonna feel so underwhelmed when you find out what they're actually for...
Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
Ok, for once, I think I'll explain something... here's what the MegaConstructor does.
Basically, the MegaConstructor is another "unique" gameplay object (actually, I borrowed the idea from AOE III, which borrowed it from earlier games).
Like the Fortress-deploying unit in AOE III, a MegaConstructor is a construction unit that may only be used one time- after that, it's removed from play. You can use it to reclaim stuff, which it does (poorly) but you may not use it to assist a Factory or to do anything else that you normally associate with a constructor from OTA.
I am still thinking it might be fun to have MegaConstructors arrive after X minutes, instead of letting people build them, or something... but probably I will let people set their own pace, and just make them really gosh-darn expensive, so that they represent a major choice of income diversion ("do I build 5 more tanks, or 1 MegaConstructor which won't pay for itself for a few minutes", etc.).

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
nice explanation.
You still havent explained what it is for exactly.

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
"Exactly" implies that I should explain what units it can build, etc., which is not a detail I want to go into at this time, as it may change between now and release

Re: P.U.R.E. 0.55
Rather than build a structure in the usual Spring building style, it converts itself into the structure. That's the jist of it, hence the 'one use only' thing.
