Iamacup cant be arsed maintaining unknown files so he gave it up and advertized for a maintainer. The new maintainer hasnt the necessary logins and passes to actually do anything to UF either and iamacup is making it harder and harder to contact him from the spring community.
Iamacup on the other hand doesn't have the time for UF, he's too busy getting drunk and going to parties, and this is actually true, he had pictures of this on his facebook and after I said this he deleted me on facebook so I could put any of them up on here. The idea tht university work he had was stopping him from making UF tick is nonsense, I should know, I'm at uni myself.

Tbh I know exactly what uni can do to people... I was at uni 3 or so years ago, partying, ladies and drink. But he should have at least temporarily handed over responsibility that's a bit 'out of order' that he didn't!
Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
Update:: I've moved to Joomla! some of you may have heard of it.
Just put a bog standard template on it for now but over the next few weeks I'll be giving it a unique identity.
Check out the features of it.. (content wise, ignore the graphics!)
Any suggestions as to how it should look, give me a shout. Appreciate any input you guys can provide!

Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
I'd be a little perturbed to find out that he just outright abandoned UF... but ultimately, at least for me, I care more about cuppy as a person than I do about what he contributed to spring. He's been an online buddy to me for a long while... and realistically, there's nothing I could say about him that's worse than what I've already said about him in the past to his faceAF wrote:Iamacup cant be arsed maintaining unknown files so he gave it up and advertized for a maintainer. He did outright abandon UF though.

This is how I feel also.SwiftSpear wrote: I'd be a little perturbed to find out that he just outright abandoned UF... but ultimately, at least for me, I care more about cuppy as a person than I do about what he contributed to spring. Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
Another update.
I've had a little play around with css and have come up with a v basic layout for the site. As such, there isn't much to see by way of graphics and I still need to add a lot of the content via modules etc...
Check out the revised layout below:-
http://s6.photobucket.com/albums/y232/j ... layout.jpg
The colour is definitely going to change. It's mainly the layout I was concerned about at first. Now I'm looking for someone with semi-decent skills with photoshop or graphics to give me a hand with sorting out a theme for the site. Any takers?
Also still looking for others with experience with PHP and mySQL as well a willingness to look into and support Content Management Systems. I offer my support completely to anyone who wishes to join the team.
On a side note, and a bit of a down point I have to say, but I've only been on this forum for a month or so. I've had some good experiences, spoken to quite a few cool guys who have gone out on a limb for Spring mods. However, to the point, I've also witnessed a lot of whining on these boards. It seems such a shame for a promising community as Spring to suffer from such embittered in-fighting
Any advice you guys have about the layout is more than welcome! I've used CSS with Divs. Float-based percentage sizing for the tables for those who are tech savvy.
Look forward to hearing your input and/or working with some of you guys

Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
Site update again! Added a new logo and theme. The old logo was pretty poor so replaced it. Hopefully this has more of a feel of a gaming portal than the last attempt.
Looking at using the moo.fx package for menus and the general animation of the site.
Check out the site as usual here http://www.portal-gaming.com
I'm still looking for people to help code the site as well as decent designers for the graphics.
Let me know what you guys think - any improvements are welcome

Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
To answer your earlier question.
Honestly after reading your goals, I am not sure we could really work together as far as site goals. You are more for player base and I am more for content devs. No offense to the unwashed masses but I prefer that FGJL remain a haven for the obsessed freaks making stuff. While it is cool to see a site that is about gaming and hopefully that will give spring some exposure but as far as our goals are concerned I think we cater to different crowds.

Re: A Gaming Site incl Spring Support [Coders/Gfx wanted]
Fair enough. I understand we have very different aims, however, the site will also support modifications and perhaps development further down the line. So maybe it can tie in -- i'm intending to 'get fingers in quite a few pies' to excuse the phrase
As to my previous post, you'll have to view the site in Firefox at the moment to view it correctly. The .png and css aren't appearing correctly in IE6/7 as I haven't placed in any hacks for them yet (they are proving a pain to say the least!).

Mmm nice pie, think I might have left a bogey in it though
