Bad Moderating

Re: Bad Moderating
Eh, I brought it back because of the large amount of complaining on the matter in #main; I figured it'd be easier to address in an organized manner here.
Re: Bad Moderating
Well, other people don't agree, apparently. It escapes me as well, Matt.
Re: Bad Moderating
Mainly because if sefidel can be banned for that then they can be banned too for stuff they do everyday.
Re: Bad Moderating
Do they all viscously attack the mod that muted them? I've only had that happen to me a few times, and all those dudes got the same result as Sefidel.
Re: Bad Moderating
indeed, and they learn their lesson and dont do it again, but they forget.
It seems this time around sefidel was the first to forget and now everyone else has been reminded.

Happens to me often, but I let it go.LordMatt wrote:Do they all viscously attack the mod that muted them? I've only had that happen to me a few times, and all those dudes got the same result as Sefidel.
Re: Bad Moderating
I've been muted before for having an argument in #CA and I got angry as well.
You have to remember that whenever you do take action such as muting you are making the people you mute more frustrated at both you and those they were in conflict with.
Not everyone will handle this with a level head, and you need to remember that.
Other than that I have no opinion on whether this was bad moderating. I just suggest giving a warning or two as to how close the offenders are to getting muted before you mute.
(A more effective display for moderator messages would be helpful as well, such as having a way to display a message and prevent anyone else from posting a message for 10 seconds or so to make sure that it is not lost in the heat of argument.Probably should have gone in another topic but thought I'd mention it, might prevent a crisis someday.)

Thanks kinda what I thought. WHile anti-americanism in #main is annoying and happens a lot, liberals in america spout that crap all the time on radio and tv, so I've grown to just kinda filter it out.
Re: Bad Moderating
Well there's no need for this topic anymore, Sefidel has decided he's going to bring the server down.
