Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
I don't quite follow you. Good emotion though, really believable emphasis. I can just hear the * so clearly.

I love how people with no formal training or education in climatology, geology, meteorology, and/or related fields get very passionate about their uneducated, media-fed views for or against global climate change.Forboding Angel wrote:Are people really this stupid? Honestly?

It's all very well that global warming is a wonderful buzz topic at the moment.
But its a minor issue in relation to fuel depletion.
When we invent an efficient way to store energy (A solution to many issues, including making renewable energy sources a viable option), then global warming can rightly become the higher priority issue..

I know the solution for global warming: Get all scientists working on cold fusion :)
Personally I think that people make too much drama around global warming, mostly because humans are negativist and eager to have a reason to complain about something. If the world climate is getting affected by humans in a negative (for humans, caring for other species that have no importance for us is bad for us) manner it means that there are more humans that there should be, a problem wich will solve itself since the climate madness will kill a lot of people... then after that we can start making some population control :)

Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Yeah but we'd rather not have a few billion people die.
Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Yeah it would be better winhout the cold-blooded genocide part, but we didnt knew about this then we should have stoped population growth, and even if we knew I doubt we would have managed to convince everone to be nice and help each other having less kids :)
Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Some of you realize that if the sea level rises, I think it is about 20 feet, which is likely to happen if large chunks of both the north, and south poles melt.. Huge portions of all coastal areas around the world will be flooded, and most if not all of these areas contain significant population numbers. Given the debacle Katrina caused here in the US with only a couple million people displaced from roughly one state, and city. I honestly would be quite worried about what would happen if that were to occure on a global scale in every nation with any coastline cities. The number of refugees and the resources neccessary to relocate and support them till infrastructure was rebuilt could be astronomical. Such an event could lead to some serious world tension. This is a serious issue..
Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
It is a serious issue, and I'm pleased to see people try to do something about it.
Ever thought that people working together in one way might lead to people working together in other ways? So, even if Global Warming is a hoohaw, getting people to work together to try and fix the problems (pollution and fuel consumption are still problems even if they aren't going to cause massive climate shifts) is still a good because they might work together on other issues.

Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Yeah, that might work. Number one probally of humanity is that people think "me and then" instead of "us". If everone worked to help each other instead of working for thenselfes, everone would get enough work, and then everone would be happy, and then... utopia? :)Zoombie wrote:It is a serious issue, and I'm pleased to see people try to do something about it.

I think you do need a refresh of your joke core, because I still don't know what this thread is about. My first post was flippant but entirely true.

Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
i must say that fuel depletion makes me glad, since it is the only pressure that drives lagging and stagnant fuel and propulsion research. Fuel depletion --> creation of the engine and fuel necessary to infinitely spin the tracks of the flash tank at high speeds.

As far as I understand, the issue of sea level rise isn't a serious threat. That theory was brought up after the global warming theory, and largely ignores the reality of water displacement physics.Fanger wrote:Some of you realize that if the sea level rises, I think it is about 20 feet, which is likely to happen if large chunks of both the north, and south poles melt.. Simply put, the entire north pole could completely melt, and while it would be very very bad, it wouldn't actually cause sea level rise at all.
Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Its still possible, though as far as what we know its hard to predict what exactly would happen..

Re: ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME???
Sure the north pole could melt without changing the world sea level. However there is also the south pole which would change the world sea level as it primarily rests on land instead of on water.
