"Automatic one shot" stockpile weapon

Post by [Krogoth86] »

I'd really like to have the possibility to make a weapon which principially works like weapons with stockpile i.e. they continually grab some of your ressources. In addition to that it should just build one single shot and with that said you shouldn't have the "build rocket" symbol in the unit's menu and also no stockpile symbol when using the healthbar widget...

The reason for this is to have a weapon that takes a certain amount of energy or metal but doesn't need to have the full ressource amount available. That might be ok for energy weapons (although a recharging Annihilator or something like that is nice) but weapons which eat metal are a pain in this mode as you probably will have a constant lack of metal and starting to stop builders just to have some metal in spare for your weapon to fire just sucks to be true. So it would be nice to use the stockpile behaviour for reloading so even when you don't have the needed ressource amount in your storages the weapon can reload by getting a part of your incoming ressources...

Try Lua, I've got things similar to that in Fibre.
