Just like every other time win/loss has been mentioned...it'd have the same problems as ingame time (playing only speedmetal would still increase your rank), make no sense in the context of multiple mods, and be extremely exploitable; all one would have to do is make two bots that repeatedly report a game with one of them winning, and then use the winning account.Gota wrote:It will be some a sort of win/loss ranking system which will be covert and will allow after a lobby has gathered enough info to make outobalance generate better team game balance.
See above- speedmetal, playing rigged games, or using a bot.after a lot of game data has been gathered about you the system will have a more accurate assesment of your capabilities than the "time spend in game" solution.
There isn't really a reliable way for a machine to automatically find smurfs in an accurate manner...people have dynamic IPs, use multiple computers, etc. Also multiple people can use one computer or share an IP. Continually checking smurfs would also put a major strain on the server.If it is possible,and i do not know if it is or how hard or easy it is to achieve this,the lobby should keep track of your smurf accounts and combine the info so that when you smurf and want anonymity you recieve it but when the outbalance feature is used in a team game you are still calculated as a very good player if you are such.
If it's non-competitive, why are you even complaining about imbalanced games? If you're properly enjoying the game it's fun even when you lose.I think for a non competitive community that we have this system will suit best and even if we might get weird looking teams when examined by their in game time indication ranks they will be much better balanced ingame.

I kinda like this idea, but the imlimentation just seems to hackish almost.
I mean, there ARE some really powerful ranking algorithms out there... the problem with most ranking algorithms though is using them in a scenario where all the players haven't agreed to obey the rules results in some really screwed up anomalies. In the hands of most players that means an abusable system if the rank is a puplic figure. But this idea removes some of that by making the figure private.
Still, it just sort of seems incredibly elaborate to make such a complicated system on a strictly private access base. I mean, from my perspective, I'd probably do it anyways if I were the one doing the work, just cause I would want to see what the ranking system would come up with. But realistically, making such an elaborate private ranking system just so auto balance is a little bit more accurate is sort of stupid. It's sort of like spending 200 hours building the car's windshield, and 300 for the whole other entirety of the car. Sure, a better autobalance would be nice, but it's not exactly, the most pressing issue in spring. Making the databases work 3 times as hard just for autobalance seems unwise...
