Software recovery?

Post by Muzic »

I screwed my raid array

and formatted it..a couple times..

im using some software called Getbackdata from..a..friend..

and i ran it for abit and stopped and i actually found a few things from My Documents. Unfortuneatly everything is labelled gayly.

Anyone know any good recovery software that keeps file names?

If data on it was REALLY important, you might want to try searching in this direction:

Filenames get lost fast. Deleting a file removes the pointer to that file, and while the file itself is usually intact, the file name no longer exists on the harddrive.

I hope you're not posting using that very hard drive. If you seriously want to recover anything off it, you shouldn't do anything on it.

Also you say raid, what type?

It wasnt the hardrive.

1gb of my RAM fucks in sky.

And fyi, i recovered around 40gb of stuff. Mostly music, and games and movies (what else is there o-O ).

IRONICALLY, i got the games and music I didnt really want D:

Fuck I had just downloaded X3...And all i wanted to play was that and dark crusade. Both are gone forever XD.

I have to see if i missed anything... and i have to repartition my RAID. And no i have a seperate harddrive im using atm.

If you're running XP it's pretty damn good acctually. Only vista makes it suck.

I think he meant that 1gb of his unspecified total RAM, is broken. So like he had 2 gigs and one died.
