How do you texture a UV sphere?!?!

I can't seam to do this, I have my UV map, but no matter what I do, the seams look horrible!

What exactly do you want to paint?

Sides, top, front? You could project it if you don't need details on all sides or try to sphere map it.

Depending on the needs, you can either spheremap a sphere in Wings, then distort it and then rework the distorted areas of the map later on, or you can use a cylinder map, with caps (in Wings, just cut the tips of those things off, map those with unfolding, map the main length by unfolding).

Thanks for the advice, but I deiced to remodel it without using spheres.
Anyway, I'll post the project in Mod development later.
