Well imo there is something else about non-TA mods:
Many of them are unfinished and the rest of em is somewhat playable but also WIP. So if you have tried one of those many early stage thingies you'll hesitate when you hear of "P.U.R.E. 0.55" or "EE 0.42". You'll rather want to play "BA 6.1" or "NOTA 1.41". It already sounds way more finished and well if you're still impaired from the experience of having played some wacky Beta versions you won't even bother playing those other things (although you really miss something that way)...

That's why all of the good clans own in 1v1 and then own even more in team games.

Not true, xta that comes with spring is at 9.39.2 much bigger number, and no one plays it.

They own because they are good, not because they play 1vs1 :)

Well, at least in my clan, members are generally only let in when they prove themselves in 1v1s.

it is a lot easier to claim complete when you have all your models and content done for you if you go with a TA mod.

Truth is gundam was done at 1.0 but now I continue beyond what TA could support.

So yeah, the ta mods are as complete as 1.0 gundam was, the key difference is that CA is the only one that is really pushing it past TA.

People should try all theses different mods, they can't say they suck without playing a few games.

CA has a much larger number than all other mods combined everyone should be playing CA.

I look for anything other than a traditional rts with balance pulled out of a hat and then defended as being great to the death.

BA team games take no skill? I love team games the most, because I can really work with other teammates to implement effective strategies. For example, I like to start with an air factory near the frontlines to quickly spam out some transports for my teamates. We push way ahead, and I leavfe my factory behind to reclaim, after maybe making a few air cons. Then make a kbot or veh factory and pwn.

Spring team games (specifically BA cos its the most played mod) r most of the time no skillfests... were the team with less players probably win cos one player has more eco..

that shows how fail big team games in spring seem to be so i dont get why they r so popular there laggy/porcy/not fun to watch maybe people get on a high teching to krogoth or sumthing

spring is played best with 6 people or less hopefully people get the hint soon :P

4v4 is ok .. anything bigger unless all the players r skilled (highly unlikely) epic fails

The most fun part of spring for me is to work out strategies with my friends, and execute them successfully. Thats why I have a clan. I could never do that in K clan, so I made my own. There are other reasons im not k either but i wont go into details I love things like nuking or bombing, then having other people send their units in. Also, a more effective battle force can be managed by many people who work together, where each person can manage a different aspect of the force. Having a dedicated person microing air cover and another with arty and another with infantry is deadly, and beautiful to watch. On that new dam map my clanmates and i ahve had a great time pushing the middle together. Thats why I think clans are valuable. You can learn each other's skills, and work together. I have been playing with these people only a few times, since my clan is pretty new and noobish, and already we give eachother units to manage and dedicate econ and such. THere is a certain high that comes from walking krogs into your enemy's base and bombarding with buzzies. However, there is an ever better high that comes from successfully working with your friends to capture a location and hold it.

Ya, sorry for this thread, i was simply trying to get rid of some slight bigotry and stir up some interest in other things, but i guess it failed. TA is great, and I certainly play CA and BA alot more than any other mod.

Team games are fun. They're not full of skill, I agree, but I blame that on small maps, anything above 16x16 and slowdown/lag becomes an issue, and 16x16 is too small for a 5vs5 game allowing a huge variety of strategies or tactics.

If you're concerned about "eco" ruining your games, just disable metal makers.
