Hello everyone, I bring you an important message:

SPRING IS NOT TA!!!


OMG REALLY? BUT WHAT ABOUT BA???? WHATZ???
Yes really. BA is just 1 small mod among at least 10 wonderfully designed mods for spring. There is CA, which has jetpacks, and there is XTA, which is just amazing in many ways, and then Tired, and of course LLTA UBER TECH 27 UNITS LOL. NOTA is just incredible. These are good mods. Widen your horizon. Its okay because they are ta.

BUT GUESS WHAT??
There are mods that are not based on ta. For real. At this very moment.

Try Kernel Panic. You liek epic?
Try Gundam. You liek mechs?
Try EE. You liek uber tech pwn and good factions?
Try Evolution. um....
Try PURE. Its looking pretty cool atm.
Try Nanoblobs, because its Nanoblobs.
Try FF. You liek spase?
Try UA. You liek unreleased?
Try Eternal Struggle. Its kind of like ff in a vague sort of way.
TRY SIMBAES!!!!!!!! IT IS THE BEST MOD EVER CONCEIVED AND CREATED!!!

TRY ANYTHING BUT BA + SPEEDMETAL. OTHERWISE I WILL PUT KROGS + CROWS + NUKES IN YOUR BASE.

Thank you for reading my post. If someone says "OMFG No one will join" copy this entire post and spam it in #main, until people join. CAUpdater is a good place to start downloading mods. Join channels like #EE, #NOTA, #CA, #XTA, and others.

A hate thread. No matter how much publicity these other mods get I doubt it'd make any difference. People need to stop knocking TA based mods because these mods made Spring popular and are pretty much the only way the community got started.

How about "TA was a good game with good features, and being able to support those features is important to the versatility of the Spring engine"?

How about that?

Spring's lack of support for TA's LOS options (ie. circular LOS, full LOS, on-screen-fog-of-war) has been a frequent grousing point for non-TA modders, for example. In general, the whole radar/sonar system is woefully incomplete as soon as you take a long hard look at how it interacts with water. For example:

Saying "no TA-based mods are good too play then" Wont change anything. Unleash people are really tired of what they like they wont just go out searching something new at randow. Now if you make loads of propaganda about some good mod things may change :)

lol, ca is ALL about .cheat .give jetpack.


BA is a great mod, and CA and NOTA is even better. This thread is just a burst of pent up frustration. Dont get me wrong, ta is probably one of the best rts ever, second to warzone 2100. However, there is no way anyone will implement warzone in spring, and other mods are just dying.

Even *A mods need more attention. Play more ca and nota and xta.

seeing as the top 5 most played mods r all OTA variants :P thats not really a problem

but BA being the most popular kinda sucks cos it dusnt show wat spring can do this has been discussed b4 tho and people choose wat they play..

Spring has lots of nabs cause Lagest team games(5v5+ with no skill) and speed metal seem to be the most popular games :/

so anything that requires learning anything new or new dynamic is totally lost to them this means non ota based mods suffer even tho some r quite good hopefully SW: imperial winter or some other mod will bend the trend and bring in some new blood whilst there at it

if any non ta mods were really good I'm sure I would be playing them somehow...no such luck.
it's not that I don't want to play them, none of them have even tried to appeal to me.

I dont think that large team games make noobs, you dont HAVE to be good in 1vs1 to be a good player :) Actual many tactics that can be done in 1vs1 wont work on bigger games.
