These trees are pretty nice! If maybe a bit heavy on the trunk polies.. ;)

Oh, and, yeah, I dont think texture railroads will look good at ALL... and the only way model tracks would be viable would be on a flat surface in a straight line. But like Flozi said he's working on a map design that will incorporate tracks of this sort, which could also utilize some of your armoured trains (it'd be cool if they could be ressurected and then used, albeit stationary :D)

You might want to use more polies on the haystacks: they don't look particularly round...

Katastrophe has a tree feature, though I don't know if the creator is still around. Looks like a fine map otherwise, though the farm field with green tall grass and dark hay bales looks a bit odd in my eyes. I second GMN on that the bales doesn't look that round, and it might be worth spending a few more polies on them.

Look into my S'44 svn folder, you'll find the trains there. As usual, unmapped and untextured :) A station and some railroad-related things soon to follow.
They can be turned into units pretty easily, but is there a way to preplace unit wrecks on a map? AFAIK regular features cannot be set to resurrectable, this probably needs a bit of lua?

Look at the last picture i posted; Flozi re-modelled the gaybales for exactly that reason.

Yes, the grass has since been changed to yellow (it was only oversight on my part that they were green, it looks better now)

I'll test it out with a few tank corpses I want to throw on there.. maybe just have to include the unit files in the map? heheh, I'd like to see a FARK resurrect a Tiger tank...
