Spring crashes a few seconds after beeing ingame

Hi there,

I post this for a less computer experienced friend.
He connects to the server, the map is loading, everything is fine.
He chooses a start location and chats a few times. and then he's back in windows. he said there was a msg box saying "Unbekannter Fehler" which means "Unknown Error".

Important to note is here that even his irc client disconnects when this happens.

i tried some more stuff.. i connected him to my host using a vpn and i was on his pc with some remote controll thing. i lost connection when his spring crashed, same as his irc client..
strange thing is, yesterday we could play a whole game over vpn

i hoped to dodge the routers routing that way..

well, it did not work.

i have no idea
