I suggest trying to find a texture that looks more hard and less soft, more rock and less mud, for the pins. Not a grey rock, still a brown rock, but a hard rock.
Also, it may be hard, but try as much as possible to hide the sharp polygon edges in the pin tops. Currently some pins have round top, and it's nice, but other pins reminds me too much how 3D engine works.
I also suggest trying to make the sky below the horizon brown and not blue. Before it was impossible, but since... some spring version, it's possible with the right values in the .smd.
I like the long shadows and the orange dusk lighting. Please keep them!
Need to see more of the map, for instance I don't know what's that grey soil.
Make the tips less pointy, make the whole hill a little lower. Also, try and add some other features apart from the hills. Like maybe a river, or a deep abyss.
woot, pincushion was one of my favourite TA maps; it changes gameplay so much.
It will be interesting to see how you manage to get the textures looking good on the spires. My suggestion is a simple texture that won't look strange even if it is deformed.
I like the new texture of the pin. And you even managed to make it blend seamlessly with the ground texture!
Metal should be much much more scattered, and shouldn't be placed in an empty area in the middle. Players should be forced to spread out in the pin maze, not just fight in the middle glade with pin only has a scenery.
Suggestion: comment the line WaterPlaneColor. Or if you really want to use it, then use the value 0.26 0.12 0.05. Because that blue square below the horizon really looks odd.
I still wish the SY had added a tag to control the color below the horizon. Well, actually that new tag WaterPlaneColor does control it, but we can see the edge of the WaterPlane, and it looks bad to see those pointy corner and sharp edge, they should be blurred. Removing the WaterPlaneColor make the color below the horizon be the fog color, which is much more fine than the blue of the older Spring, but still, sometimes you may want another color than the fog color, no?
