yar, very few people actually use the unit.

raider and stumpy have alot more armor, but in BA the garpike and pincer can get to alot more places, plus they have flat trajectory fire which is good at hitting faster targets.

Gotta wait on starting the textures though, I had to rush another model for my HalfLife-2 mod team Firearms-2, and I gotta get it optimised and uvw_mapped by the weekend. :|

Yeah, I had to get it unwrapped for my Hl2 mod so our texture artists and animator could get the rest finished on it.

So I'll be busy working out that before I can start doing textures on the garpike.

Mostly I just wanted to show it off :D

In the mod you can get Akimbo Mac-10's as a special weapon

I was a pretty big fan of the original firearms. Pretty cool, well except for the team that you're working for stole the mod from the original team. :P http://www.firearmsmod.com/

Welcome to source modding. That world is about as intelligent and mature as 500 12 year olds being asked to construct a building while all claiming to be the boss.

I could swear Mr. D said he worked for Fireteam: Incursion.

Not sure if that is the name exactly, though it feels close enough >_>

names are hard to come by. Fact of the matter is they had a shitty and unorigonal name. I was amazed that gundam RTS wasn't already taken.

yeah I was, but as happens with alot of Mod teams, Real life went about its merry way and nobody could stick around to finish it, so I took myself and my work to another mod that could actually understand the word "Teamwork" :-) .

Not much to look at yet, just the basic camo back pallet there and the wheels and tracks started.

I still have alot of shading, and the paneling work too.

I'm going to try doing some runners and hatches in metallic around the body too, and in specific areas so its alot left to do.

The turret still needs finishing, and there are some tweaks with the color and tracks I need to try.

I left the green area more saturated this time, as the other models ended up being too washed once in-game, hopefully the extra color will help this from happening.

Awesome.

Could you separate the model in lots of pieces in order to make writing a convincing suspension script possible?

I dunno, mechanically speaking.. you would need an engineering degree to figure out the pivot rates on the hydraulics and movement of the track housings in conjunction to it so that everything matches up properly.

Just to do it right, I would need to make the hydraulic tubes separate so they can collapse and expand, then you have to figure out how much travel the Tracks will be doing, and each tube's pivot during that travel..

Far too much work in the script and CPU usage for what its worth IMO..

For units like the weasel/Jeffy sure why not?
I just don't see it being easy to do, or efficient to do with units like this.
