Cheats

Post by Zoy64 »

i think there should be a post(such as this one) that give the people the chance to suggest a new cheat for the engine to use. Such as .doubleshot or .radar. I think we need a new command anyway.

LUA Widgets or Gadgets can do most things like that. Learn LUA :-)

Cheats are not for cheating in games, they are for debugging. If your mod needs more debug hooks feel free to add them.

They also have the valuable use of: 'Side A is 10 seconds from losing their last unit. Time to give them a krogoth* and see how long it survives.'
This use is far more important then debugging.

*or anni2, or doomsday laser, or a titan, etc.

Some extra cheat commands could be made using
LuaRules. An example of this is the .nc replacement
for the default .nocost cheat. The .nc version can
be undone (unlike the default one). IIRC, the CA mod
has that gadget. Another example is the .deploy custom
cheat command for the deployment mode available in CA.

A nofog thing would also be cool for making screenshots.

Use .spectator, combine with .godmode to remain in control of stuff.

.godmode allows specs (anyone?) to control any units in the game...

only specs. I use it sometimes when people arent paying attention. Like when that kid made 50 anenomes to counter t2 ships (BA), I made his nanos reclaim each other and his krows head straight into the aa ships, while I sent only 1 little tactical nuke into his base. it almost died, silly thing, with all of those advanced 3 storages (about 30 I think) chain expolding so that all of his conbots were perfectly destroyed, and i think he had one experimental gantry left, which was originally wasting all his resources on a krog that could not possibly ever be built.

If there were a command to allow your units to attack your ally's units that would be cool.
