I wonder why Doesnt spring get mentioned more often in those "open source games" lists?
Even if it does get mentioned, its somewhere in a list of a few tens of games with a horrbile description or appears in the comments section.
I wonder how come spring is so obscure.

Re: Spring and OSG lists
Open sourced games are a bit of a hit and miss thing. Since all advertisement is word of mouth it's really easy to just completely miss the fact that a game exists. That's part of why I want an expanded capability lobby. If pretty much all game are playable from the same platform, it's worth it for projects to hop on and run dedicated servers for their games and have fans hang out in the program, so new open sourced games instantly have a popular advertisement avenue.
Re: Spring and OSG lists
Well for starters the spring website can add some advertisments to other open sourced games(exchange links with them so they have our advertisment on their website).
I think that will be a good start and a good way to initiate some kind of communication and contact with other open sourced projects.

Re: Spring and OSG lists
We could... but TBH I think that despite logic and appearances the OS gaming community is acctually quite a bit more competitive than the commercial game industry. I don't really anticipate any cooperation from other projects as far as the community building base goes until it's somewhat forced. That and I don't know how to edit the website well enough to be comfortable changing the layouts for the main page, so fnord would have to do it, and I don't want to make him do any work he doesn't want to do because he's too awesome.Gota wrote:Well for starters the spring website can add some advertisments to other open sourced games(exchange links with them so they have our advertisment on their website).
