I will have very, very early (and admittedly rough, but stable) versions of my "world builder" LUA concept available fairly soon. Any AI developer who wants to see what's going to happen when Gaia / Neutral units are actually used extensively, and wants something real to test conceptual approaches with, contact me and I'll hook you up when it's a bit less crude.
I was hoping I'd be done by now (Friday, actually), but IRL intervened.
I'll pull a non-Caydr and say that I have something that works right now, and is interesting, but that I'd prefer to continue messing with this for at least a few more days before releasing it to anybody, hopefully turning "interesting" into "really cool" along the way (especially if I can get a grid solver of some sort working). You can see it right away, if you want to, but I have at least 3 major tasks remaining before I'd like to declare it at the initial feature-list.
I hope that all AI developers and maintainers will be willing to take a peek at this concept work, now that it's non-vaporware and is no longer causing crashes due to frame 0 issues. KAIK, and AAI other than not really doing anything useful with neutral objects, is currently crash-free, and I'm assuming that NTAI will be as stable with this as it has been with games in general. Is a version of RAI for 0.76b1 available yet? I'd love to watch it play PURE, it as great for 0.75b2. At any rate, feel free to ignore this, if you're not interested in how this is working out, but I think I'm close to having something that's really nice, not just a crude demo now...

Re: World Builder Testing
there's a version of RAI on UF for 0.76, I've tested it and it still works well
Re: World Builder Testing
You may all want to flood buildbot with requests for ntai.dll before the C++ interface becomes incompatible with svn again
Re: World Builder Testing
the buildbot versions don't work with anything but the svn version they were built for...
Re: World Builder Testing
Which is why you need to download them after a release before the classes the interface uses change in svn and compatibility is broken.
