distro

Post by gnopgnip »

well the closest thing i have seen is sabayon with cube2 and a few other 3d games but alot of the people i play with didnt like the super fast arcade style of play.
but the main thing is we cant install any software on teh school computers but they all have dvd drives and the hardware is pretty good so i was hoping for something like sabayon but i have seen almost every distro include some 3d games

You might look into Morphix, last time I played with it all you had to do was take their base image and throw whatever extra .deb files you wanted in a folder then make the ISO and it would auto install them on bootup.

I'm sorry I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say.

Did you follow the Ubuntu installation instructions for Spring here: http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/SetupGuide#Ubuntu ?

Ah, i do lov flamewars, :D. No, wait, i'm kidding, hehe...

i am the guy to test it. i whave dual boot on 6 of 7 machines there; i will use some precompiled packages for slackware (in process of building) and the nice fashioned TASClient.

and the hardware isn't even average: in online games i'm getting a unpleasant slooooow motion when each player get more than 300 units. It's not even counted in Frames Per Second, but Per Minute

so, if the same machine, running fluxbox, boost and spring itsel optimized for the old processor (all Semprom 2500+, i think. You find these kind of thing i strange places nowadays, :D)

we will have more soon.

and about the thread: when we have ready to use tgz's maybe slax become an option, :D

sure. advanced users with low spelling capabilities, hehe...

i was talkin' about the old ones there in my house. these are Semprom 2500+, with 512 mb ram and geforce 5200 128 mb.using it you can win anyone, but you mus be a rushe. later 20 minutes of fight, the memory will run out and you will be the laggiest guy in the room. pretty stinky. But 'till now i was made this kind of test only using windows, so, i think that compiling everything and using a bare window manager to save processor cycles and memory could improve the performance.

you know, may players easily bring up a 1000+ army of pure emotion, :D but when you dn't have enough memory, the enemy just need to build the army, when he moves you will be lagged and the game will end, :P

its possible 5000units with 1Gb ram(very impressive)
the new 10000units limit seems related to 2gbRAM computer forsale in standard today...
