Sync errors in virtually every game

Post by Ugla »

This could have been answered elsewhere, but it's close to midnight, and I keep getting sync errors from the first second of the game. This started with new release, but it could be my rig. I just want to check that no other cases have been reported, and if there are any solutions out there [/noob]

Make sure you don't have any stray mod files lying around.

Theres a lobby client bug, that if you type a number into the resource amounts they wont update, you need to drag the little bar instead. This will lead you to having whatever number you inputted and everyone else having whatever it was before that (In one game this lead to everyone but Licho having 10k resources >_<). If you are the host and this is what you are doing, this might be the problem.

@Lurker, should I just delete all the older mod files?

And make sure there are no .ufo files. Probably not the case but just to be sure..they've plagued me with desyncs a few times when I've been looking at a ta unit and forgotten to remove it.

No, but look around. If you have any loose content files, they will desync you. If you have any .sdz, .sd7, .ufo, etc. files that aren't in /maps or /mods they will desync you.

You should have these files in base and nothing else.
