I noticed and have been saying kbots suck for a long time.
I also noticed t1 kbots are shiet..i wonder how many versions will it be till the get some counter messures so t1 kbots can actually be played on bigger maps and can at least stand a small chance on flat maps just like vehicles have a small chance of winning on hilly maps(atm flat map means only and absolutly only vehicles while hilly maps can be both and bigger maps are also only vehicles even of they are hilly ).

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
I still think crawling bombs should be "stealth", as making a successful attack with them is nearly impossible most everything out-ranges them.
Still though, against Vehicles most Kbots can't stand up to their counterparts, Vehicles out-range, out-armor, and out-power Kbots even with cost for cost.
Kbots are slower, weaker, and this so-called terrain advantage doesn't make much difference, when vehicles will just go right past them and eat your base while you try to scramble them up a hill.
90% of BA games, starts vehicles, and ends with Vehicles.
Kbots are a forgotten class, with the exception of 2 units that actually make the difference, SUMO, and SharpShooter.

@Mr. D:
You fail for forgetting spies. And if that's because you don't use spies, you double-fail. Spies are a whole reason on their own for going kbots.

Spies are only usefull in very specific circumstances, not to mention expensive.
I prefer flea spam, because its more insulting to the enemy to get raped by tons of tiny units.
I've even taken down Goliaths with only Fleas, its all about the micro.
I have to retort back on what I said about Kbots though, the new T2 Kbot changes are nice, its just that T1 is a very very hard fight vs vehicles, and almost always a losing one.

With that you fail for forgetting the Arm Gremlin which is just that - a spy tank. Just turn off the pitiful weapon and enjoy...Pxtl wrote:@Mr. D:

I'm still trying to figure out why vehicles have a specific anti-kbot counter unit (the leveler and the janus) when they're supposed to be better in general.MR.D wrote:I have to retort back on what I said about Kbots though, the new T2 Kbot changes are nice, its just that T1 is a very very hard fight vs vehicles, and almost always a losing one.
If it weren't for those two, kbots and vehicles would be very competitive with eachother. Hell, Peewee/AK spam might even be better than flash spam.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
First I'm going to make DZHIBRISH's post more readable:
BA is a project created by and for a small, elite group of 1v1ers. 1v1ers tend to play on smaller maps, which favor kbots more than larger maps due to the smaller ranges involved, and often more relevant hills. (There is precisely one (1) spot in DSD that kbots can cross but vehicles cannot, which is pretty near a spot where vehicles can cross, and most of the other popular maps hardly have any hills that kbots can cross but vehicles cannot. Meanwhile, on the 1v1 side, we have Small Divide and Brazilian Battlefield, just to name two.) Therefore, kbots are aiight on many 1v1 sized maps, but tend to suffer on the larger, usually team game maps.
But what, you ask, about us masses of team gamers? The BAocracy doesn't give a shit about you unless your comments also happen to be relevant to 1v1s. At least that's the impression I get.
Now I'm going to tell you why this is not going to happen. I'm not saying that it shouldn't happen, just that it's not going to.DZHIBRISH wrote:I have noticed and have been saying kbots suck for a long time.
I also noticed t1 kbots are shite. Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
I generally play Core, so no, I'm not forgetting the Gremlin. Either way, spies + jammers + Dominators are a fun combo for causing havoc from out of his detection range. Maybe not optimal (Doms can't pick off agressors like snipers can), but fun.[Krogoth86] wrote:With that you fail for forgetting the Arm Gremlin which is just that - a spy tank. Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
You fail to comprehend why spies are so awsome. It is the combination of stealth, cloak and self-d EMP for 50 seconds of a decent radius that is so win. Try using them to spot for sumos and self-d near any veh hordes that approach (A trick I learned from Saktoth). My favorite use for them is to find and disable anti nukes.[Krogoth86] wrote:With that you fail for forgetting the Arm Gremlin which is just that - a spy tank. Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
duh pure win.
What was I thinking earlier? Arm units get pwned by core. Period.
Spybot, Sumo, Goliath, Krog, krow, pyro, dom, doomsday, and even thuds!
Thuds kill vehicles. If u micro them right, they are just fast enough to be able to kill most vehicles, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are taken care of with your storms and aks. My theory is that kbots are better than vehicles. Im working on proving it. And becoming a good core kbot player.

Re: Why?
Lots of people use BA...
If anything I think people who don't just don't because they'ed rather play a game that looks a little better, and possibly plays a little less obsessively. Not everyone is going to like the same style of RTS.

Yay I merged a thread! (and swiftspear missed the point of the previous post entirely).
People's opinion's aren't really cared about until they have established some reputation showing that they are worth listening to. Some people (like yan) establish a reputation that they aren't worth listening to, and from then on are essentially ignored.

Re: Why?
The attitudes toward these units might be carried over from when they were not as good. The Juno received a massive series of buffs to get where it is now.lbctech wrote:Why dont people use (BA):

Freakers?
As for the Fatboy, it did get buffed recently. Probably people tried to use it as a front-liner, got owned because of its high cost and mediocre hit points, and decided it was worthless. (Although people still try to use Goliaths as front-liners...)
What I don't understand is why so many people use FARKs but not Freakers. The Freaker is better in almost every way (speed, resource production, worker time, build list, hit points) and costs about the same. It's not even like people take advantage of the FARK's speed most of the time; usually I see FARKs guarding facs or the slow T2 kbot constructors.
In any case, unless you need speed, hp, or unit cloning, it's best just to guard a T2 con with T1 cons.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
Thanks matt, sorry about that. Forget teh (BA) part. Im asking why people do not use the units listed?
Why Dont People Use:
FATBOY
JUNO
FREAKER
DRAWGON MAW
CASTRO
EXPLOITER
Freaker is so awesome. U can send some freakers into the hills and in 5 mins walk out of there with a nice army (given a good econ). Also, their mine-laying ability and toaster-building madness is incredibly useful. Its like a conbot slimmed down to the essentials. And it makes PYROESLOL and the can.

Re: Balanced Annihilation V6.0
Dragon's Maw: Can be good sometimes when your enemy spaem arty. However, its short range (410, versus 435 for a LLT) limits its utility as a turret. Flame isn't the most accurate thing in the world either.
Castro: Probably because the jamming radius is so small. Or maybe they figure because ARM has Sneaky Pete the Castro is automatically useless by comparison.
Exploiter: The exploiter actually extracts less metal (10% less for the regular, 12.5% less for the moho) than the regular mex. Plus it takes longer to build, which means that you miss out on more metal waiting for the mex to finish. Overall, I think most people prefer to build a regular mex and then LLTs where (or if) they want them.
