Continuing in the British tradition of improving American designs...

why is everything so small? :( wouldn't it be more fun with everything twice the size on a map with big trees or something?

That would require even more personnel to make maps of the required scale, and would effectively insulate those maps from play in other games by the same change. The S44 team has elected, thus far, to adopt the common scale because refusal of it poses numerous problems for play and thus development.

In some ways, it's more of a problem with unit visibility that comes with the tiny scaling. I'd still like to play my games on a normal TA type zoom-level, but at that point infantry becomes hard to see when moving, and even more difficult when in prone. S:44 is the only mod I play with the team platters on all the time. That helps quite a lot, so I'd appreciate something similar being included with the mod by default.

S44 has its own teamplatter widget that is enabled by default.

We adapted it for SVN spring though, so it doesn't work in 75b2.

Teh Kangaroo was just what they called a variety of vehicles that were modified to carry troops. Most were either M7 Priests with the gun removed, or Canadian Ram tanks with turret removed. The one Yuri and I modelled that's in game is based on the Canadian Ram tank -- basically, like the Sherman, it was a modification of the M3 grant to turn it into a battle tank, but the Ram sucked ass and was only ever used in support roles, in training, and many were modified to Kangaroos.

Few Sextons were used as Kangaroos; when the Sexton was introduced and started replacing the M7 Priests, they'd modify the Priests into Kangaroos.

There were also Churchill Kangaroos but those would be horribly OP <_<

Dude, all it would take would be for one A-26 to swoop in, fire 20 rockets at it, drop a few 50kg or 100kg bombs on it, and then pepper the fleeing crew with 8-12 .50cal machineguns, and it's toast. It'd be like a Krogoth, except killable by a single bomber.
