Terrain elevation question

Why does the elevation depending colouring that can be enabled with f1 not change with terrain damage?

Even large nuke craters will happily show the old elevation structure, which rises the question: What exactly does "f1" show? A completely redundant highfield that isnt used for anything else? Or does something (ai/pathfinding, ect) depend on non-updated, depricated data?

I dont want my AI using outdated data, and the pathfinder doesnt appear to use outdated data either. It looks mroe like ti uses the data f2 shows.

But then why does f1 not show the real data, but something else?

Maybe the code never gets round to updating the data, or its created before the game begins.....

It was a rethoric question :)

Of course it uses some onmodified data initially loaded from disk, but it shouldnt...
