Forb,

on the first page of screens, I see, 1 nanoblobs, 2 gundam, 1 kp, 4 general map shots.

8/20 shots. To me that shows that the non-ta-based work is becoming more prominent.

I just took these screenshots. http://spring.clan-sy.com/stats/ Right now after I posted this a Gundam game did open up, but it has one guy in it just sitting there. There's 3 non TA based games up, and none of them has more than one player in it.

Technically moving from single digits of games played to a slightly higher single digit of games played is "more prominent" but honestly, TA mods are still going to be far and away the majority of mods played for the foreseeable future.

People put hundreds of hours of work into mods that never get played.

I guess thats the reason I rarely work on Lego Spring or Advanced Wars

I don't think its impossible, when people bothered hosting warevo servers and advertised in main people played it all the time.

just don't start out with: "the mod you like at the moment is crap and you're an idiot for playing it, wanna do me a solid and play this mod plz?"

I think its unfair that non-ta mods are being VERY over-represented in the screen shots section, non-ta mods dont even register on the server stats yet almost half of our screen shots dont feature ta based mods

I was gonna do some new ones, but I need the new spring so P.U.R.E looks as good as it can before I make the effort to take some.

Plus maybe I should get my new map done (and someone should fix mapconv) so they can really look the bomb.

This can only mean two things:
1) Not enough work is put in marketing.
2) The mod is not fun (enough).

Players are just there to have fun. They don't care about rewarding man-hours, nor should they.
