Ok, I looked through the forum and I didn't see a post about this card so if I missed it, I'm sorry please post the link(or tell me the name).
Alright, I'm getting a new video card and looking at sites and stores I only found one that has the PCI Express x16 interface and is in my pricerange, Diamond Viper Radeon X1650 PRO 256MB PCI-Express Video Card. I was just wondering if this is a good card or not, I need it to play Spring and other games like BF:2142, SpaceCowboy(although I think it's going to be AceOnline soon), SilkRoad Online, and WarRock. All these games have big environments, lots of guns and vehicles, and even more explosions, so I was just wondering what you all think since I dont know much about video cards. Thanks in advance.
P.S. WOLVERINES!!

Well at least I run XP, I never used my free vista upgrade I got with the computer, I'm pretty sure I lost it by now....... ANYWAYS back on topic, I was looking at the GeForce 8600GT but at the moment I only have $75 to work with, but I might get some Gift Cards or cash for christmas, so am trying to find one I can get even if I dont get more money to spend over Christmas. Thanks for the advice, I'll look for the 7900, I'm guessing its GeForce? So it'll probably be cheaper than the 86GT.

8xxx class cards are currently slower than the top end 7xxx class cards aka the 7900 when running spring bcause of architectural changes and their interactions with spring.
As time goes on driver updates and changes to springs rendering code should address this issue, but its a work in progress effort. Any help in isolating and correcting the causes would be much appreciated.

That's sort of what I'm going for lol. Right now I'm using integrated graphics so I'm just trying to get something that will improve my computers performance, and earlier advice said any video card with onbaord RAM would greatly improve performance. Thank you for the help everyone.SwiftSpear wrote:It's a tolerable card, but not amazing.
