My dad had bought a boat a couple of years back. It was qwite nice and all, but he never really got around using it. Later on he was in the need for money (a down payment for an apartment) and since he didn't use the boat much he ''sold'' it to my bigger brother and 2 of his friends.
Anyway, me and my dad got to borrow it. It's a small sailing boat with a very small gas tank. (10 liters)
We sailed around the islands in the sea next to Stockholm(Stockholm skärgård, it's named) and stooped at various islands and slept and eat great big dinners and where relaxed and calm. And every thing was jolly...
except for the last day...
We woke up, at about 9... we started eating break feast, when the rain started falling. We didnt want to sail (or go bye motor) home in rain, so we waited about 2 hours or so. (slept and read) When it finally cleared, we started sailing to save petrol (had about 2 liters left). The wind was kinda strange, and a line inside the boat had gotten stuck the other day, so we had to go bye motor in the end.
Suddenly the motor stopped. We thought we had ran out of petrol, but it was plenty of it left.
The motor couldn't suck it up just.
so i had to hold the tank in a strange way to make it work.
and right about then in started raining. Aging.
We went on bye motor, me holding the gas tank and he was steering.
we where getting wet off curse, and more rain started coming. but we where almost there...
Then, about 200-300 meters from the boat club, the eginge stopped.
So, there we was, about 250 meters from hour goal, with only 1 of the 2 sails working, rain falling down like... someone pored buckets of water on us and the wind was weak and against us...
Things weren't looking up, as you could see.
We started zic zagging, and went forward at least. It took a lot of time, the rain ended about halfway true. We finally reached the club, and started unpacking.
You know what the 250 meters of sea that would have taken 5 minutes with a motor took?
2 HOURS IN BLISTERING RAIN
Yeap, not so fun really.
Anyway, we are home now, i haven't catched a cold... and it's great to be back.
to bad we are probably going out with the boat tomorrow to fix that stuck rope in the boat...
Pray for me
