why don't you quit playing 1v1 ladder and play DSD instead ?
because the fate of the game is usually decided by someone being a noob, whats the point in playing? its very very very very rare to get a large team game full of truely skilled players.

And this goes back to the lack of skilled players articulated in the first post.

I still don't get the point of this kind of notice : "they're not enough good players".

And then ? You want to train the noobs ? You want to cast a "give all players a good level" spell ?

You want to make an elite post for good players to boast off together ?

the 1v1 scene is probably dead cos team games r more fun ?? 1v1 in BA dusnt rilly go passed flash spam

and i know its hard to get a good team in team games especially since DSD attracts drones of noobs

but some people just dont like playing 1v1 Teamwork is as good a skill as gosu micro.. ive yet to see alot of teamwork in Spring theres so much stuff people could do

im not saying im pro by any means but i think spring is more popular for team games (the current mods) than 1v1 and some people just dont enjoy 1v1 (like me)

doesnt make u any noobier if u dont play 1v1 "pros" r off put by the general noobism of team games

but i have had a few good team CA games were both teams have been good players of near equal skill and it was a heated porc free battle in tabula 4v4 for 30 odd mins which ended at mid tier 2

imo stop focus on 1v1 and get good teams together for 2v2 and bigger and u can meet half way with the people who like team games

k thx

every1s like omg 1v1 is for pro's cos the main rts's like starcraft wc3 r 1v1 driven

stuff like dota is 5v5 why cant spring be competitive in teams not in 1v1 ??

get more teamwork and ull get good teams which will develop good players

gg thx bye

There is no air spot on DSD, there is no air spot on Charlie. Air is almost never a valid start.

I played 4 1v1s today, 1 was over after 5 minutes but of the other 3, all 3 went to level 2 and included vehicles, kbot and air battles, 1 game even had a nuke launcher but the game ended just as the missile was ready. A 1v1 never really goes past flash spam when the skill difference is quite large, as the weaker player simply isn't good enough to survive.

I have about an 85% win ratio with air first in BA 1v1, player ignorance does not mean imbalance.

Edit: and no its not just newb bash, air can be valid.

Sure, I am talking about team games, where the dynamic is completely different. I do air first in 1v1 all the time.

1v1 is just plain old harder. It is simply more difficult. A lot of people dont like to be challenged. They'd rather chill out. Others play it for the teamplay aspect, to get good synergy, for that feeling of 'Wow, we really pulled something amazing off there!'. Its a really great feeling when you manage to pull off an amazing strategy that simply wouldnt be possible without good teamwork.

Its more psychology, why and how they play the game. The majority of players arent in it to be good, and dont want to take it that seriously.

If you want good players, pick them out, and train them. Like Ruben, he's turning into a decent player because he has killer instinct, a willingness to learn, and is getting training. But the vast majority of players do not want to be and never will be good players. Cant be bothered putting in the effort.

You know, some people play team sports so they can get good at it, so they can win, beat the opposition. Others just want to get together with their mates (or with a bunch of guys they dont really know, but whom they feel a sense of comradeship with due to the fact they are on the same team with them) and have a bit of fun.

The vast majority of RTS players are in the second category.

annoying for you? were the ones who host a game for 2 hours and in that time get maybe 2 players (who we then roll over in 10 minutes)

this was based on me hosting CA last night ~~.
You sometimes have to wait up to an hour for a CA team game, let alone a 1v1. If its hard to get a BA 1v1 game, imagine how hard it is when your player population is 1/8th the size or less. We're working on it.

I have a feeling everyone wants to win but not everyone is willing to put in the effort to get there.

Really? I'd love to see you play a good player 1on1 and go air first, I think it'd be fascinating.

im highly tempted to upload a few games of day vs andy to show your retardation.

Sure there are games where things dont go past flash, but there is a reason for it, for example games in comet. But as you dont even play 1v1s im not sure what to make out of this sentence

And one of the reasons is like andy said, the opposition simply gets crushed by the flash.

The thing is that there are no good players. how many 1v1 good players like day or heze play well in teamgames compared to how many 4v4 dsd fans play well in 1v1 games?

k thx

Do you think there's a reason why 1v1 is favoured over teamgames?

dota is closer to deathmatch games than rts, so i wouldnt bring it up in this thread.

Again, how many 4v4 "good teamplayers" do you know who can stand over 10 minutes against people in 1v1 compared to the amount of 1v1'ers who are actually good players in team games too?

Please do, I could find very few replays on UF, it would be really nice to have some skilled 1v1 games up.

2 replays of andy vs day , 1 on brazillian and one on comet. If you still want to talk bullshit about clearly needing just 1 unit to win ill stick a fork up your ass.

Just be nice to nubs, people. If one out of every ten of them becomes a good player, that's another good player for you to challenge. Okay? But if you flame all of them off before they even have a chance, that's a grand total of zero new players for you to challenge.
