Hey all! I just wanted to ask a modeling question. I am already vaguely familiar with Blender (rather than completely foreign to Wings), and I happen to love its interface unlike most people. How well does it work for modeling for spring? Are there any polycounts or uv mapping capabilities? I know there must be, because people on this forum use blender sometimes. Blender also interests me because I love python, and it runs on Linux (haven't bothered checking if wings does tho). My goal is to run all my modeling and modding stuff on linux.
While im asking questions, here a few other related ones:
Can I run the necessary scripting (cob) stuff on linux? with wine?
What about upspring?
And anything else?
Is it true that spring does not run as well on linux, or is it just fine?
TIA
A few questions

wings runs on linux
upspring should work under wine, but it should be preferred compiling from sources, this thread should explain a bit:
http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=9929
for mapping, mapconv compiles fine here, but it isn't included in the tarball releases, you'll have to get a svn snapshot (of a tagged release) and compile it
EDIT: check the setupguide for linux : http://spring.clan-sy.com/wiki/SetupGuide
