CA Campaign (Announcement Thread) [Closed]

Post by Complicated »

I'll be creating a 10-25 (per side) Campaign for CA's latest Beta.

However I will need a few things for it;
A specific launcher for the campaign which will unlock a new map after every game (not win) for one side. Like in OTA's Campaign.

An Installer which will contain The Mod, and all maps nessessary for the game.

A Map developer capable of making several maps. (Mostly Uneven maps)

Possibly someone to make a voice over for each of the missions.

Help with ingame Lua capable of creating Pop-up Messages for the start and during the game.

Future; Possibly new maps and campaigns.

If BA happens to greatly improve, they might get a short campaign.

Is it possible to enable different messages each game?

Yeah, it's pretty easy. We already made the necessary tools while working on the (unfinished) CA tutorial.

Heh, you know the messages won't be required until the writing (not coding) of each campaign mission is complete.

This will also require the map so we can write the campaign, without the map it would be dimwitted to write the campaign, as we need it's size, type of terrain etc.

Smaller maps would be preferred in most cases anyways.

I'll get back to you about the kinds of maps.

They will include, Hilly, water, flat, islands, small island, fortified bases(like your second), air maps, water damage maps, and so on.

I just finished doing some voice acting for SW spring and I had a blast. Do you need a intro guy or something like that?

Would be great ianmac. Firstly your services won't be required until we've began writing the missions.

What exactly is your objective though, with the campaign? A 'teach noobs how to play' game (which seems to have some crossover with the tutorial) or something that will be more challenging to more advanced players?

It would be very hard to create the latter.

Bit of fun
can attract new players
put something fully into spring
give a bit of a challenge
shows CA in full detail
teaches you the mod

I'm going to begin writing, 3 level each side demo campaign.
This will not include anypart of the real whole campaign and will be minor skirmishes. Mainly consisting of tier one units.

Current UF maps will be used and put into a pack for download without the campaign launcher.

The demo will be released a few days after the Beta of CA is released.
