I think ctrl-a ctrl-d should just give all your units to the next player on your team, unless you are the last player.

No sometimes you want to self-d your units for other reasons, e,g, a crawling bomb maeks bigger boom if you self-d it. :P Maybe if you have selected all of your units it could give to other player.

If you have selected more than 50% of your total forces it gives them rather than self-ding them. It's easy for the game to get the number. Total # of units / 2.
