I think the wheels on this one will be seen quite often.

There are mentions of T-28s still in use in 1944, so they even have some reason to be included :) . This thing was a real infantry killing monster, it had 5 DT MGs (my model lacks 2 of them - AA MG on top of main turret and the MG mounted on the back of main turret and pointing backwards, which is very hard/impossible to make work right in Spring anyway).
Finnish army had 7 such tanks by the end of war (they made up 25% of Finnish medium tanks, other 75% being 7 T-34 and 15 Pz.IV), so if someone decides to do Finns, they can use it, too.

T-28 required no less than 5 people: 1 driver, 2 MG turret operators, 1 main turret loader, 1 main turret aimer/tank commander. That's nothing compared to T-35 though, that one had a crew of 11-13 people (depending on model).
5 people isn't too many for a medium tank, however. T-34-85 had 5 people crew, too.

T-28 had relatively good speed, it's a 1930s medium tank, not some nearly immobile WW1 monster. It had very poor turning, however - it's length to width ration was just too high. But, because of the same, it could easily cross wide trenches. T-35 wasn't slow either (in fact none of Soviet tanks designed in 1930s were slow), but it had even more problems turning. Of course, no tank from that time could hope to hit anything while firing on the move, they had to stop often in order to shoot, so the effective battlefield speed was no more than 15-20 km/h anyway.

The Overmind, which must invest enormous energy to beam its initial assault force through a planetary Shield, uses Expeditionary Vehicles like these as their initial force. Capable of all-terrain travel, the Expeditionary Vehicle combines decent weaponry, heavy armor and a high-powered Shild penetration device, that can open a small hole in a Planetary Shield from below, allowing further devices to be delivered to the Overmind's chosen battlefield.
Oh, and... animating the joints on this thing to achieve a walk-cycle that made physical sense was... interesting. Next time, I'll emulate Nature, instead of doing a three-jointed design with a table-like rest pose

When the Pattern Beams of a construction robot or Factory are insufficient to build the required machinery from local materials quickly enough, multiple BuildTowers can be slaved to the devices, syncing their beams with the device and increasing its productive powers. They may also add their power to Builders or Expeditionary Vehicles attempting to penetrate a Shield to allow buildings to be dropped from orbit.

The gun there feels a little bit small for that big walking chassis, Argh. Otherwise it looks cool.

They look like lasers to me; theoretically then, the smaller the barrel, the more focused the beam, the more the power.
It looks like that big gun underneath is supposed to have most of the firepower, though. I suppose then that they both have a 360 degree traverse? and if so, how is the bottom one not going to shoot the legs out, assuming that it is a gun, and not just gangsta exhaust pipes?
That mod looks awesome, though. I look forward to it's release; Have you got a thread about it somewhere?
