Obviously. today people aren't killed for being homosexual - except by wackos. But I think that the bible is fairly clear when it says that homosexuals, according to God, were a detestable thing. They were commonly put to death in the ancient Hebrew lands.

Not so long ago 2 gay men where hanged in Iran publicly for homosexuality. And I think it'd happened in the past but being gay was just a coincidence in that particular happening.

Thats just in one of the chapters where they like prophesising doom. And, from what i remember about the passage, that is taken slightly out of context. It is said that at the end of time, everyone in the whole of time will go to wherever to be judged. thats where you get the 'dead will rise and walk the earth' bit. But some of the chapters and stuff can be pretty funny at times.

@Maelstrom: I'm just dismissive and contemptual of 99% of it... the hypocricy, the ignorance, the blind unquestioning faith in what they're taught when they can go across the street and get taught something completely different about the same god. I hate the corruption, I hate the religions supporting political movements although their supposed role model (Jesus) ran from the possibility of becoming a king. I hate how priests say that God favors America (this was immediately after 9/11). In every country, you'll find priests saying that God favors their country. I hate churches bribing their patrons with pancake luncheons just to get them through the door so they can take their tithe. I hate the fact that religions are some of the richest "organizations" in the world. I hate the christian children's fund, which spends more on advertising than they send to the kids in Africa. I hate priests telling their patrons that if they don't give enough money, their loved ones will stay in purgatory or go to hell. I hate how they simply respond to any deep, serious questions with the catch-all "it's a mystery". I hate the willful ignorance.

And yes, organised religion in this world is hopelesly corrupt the higher up you go within its structure. People follow religions blindlessly, you shouldnt believe what a book says because it says so, that isnt having a belief, thats being given a belief that isnt your own, and that is a very dangerous tool, especially when so many dont actually understand what theyr ead, or even read. A lot of christians in the modern world dont even know what purgatory is.

People with faith see themselves with a possibility of some kind of afterlife. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this, I'm just saying that without some kind of faith in some kind of religion, life - to many, perhaps not you - life can seem bleak.

I do not like homosexuals' sexual activity. I don't see that changing any time in the future. I really just find it disgusting. @alantai: Yeah, they have feelings, they are no doubt insulted by what I said, and that was my intention at the time. It was ignorant and stupid of me to say, and I wish I could completely erase those words from existence.

My feelings on homosexuality are I just FEEL. Much like homosexuals just FEEL gay. It wasn't taught to me, it wasn't brought on my my experiences, I can't help it. Anal "sex" seems, to me, something that is horrifying. I have the feeling that a rectum is not something to be used as a toy. My feeling of disgust at the activity of anal sex is no different from a homosexual's feeling of being attracted to men.

Evolution cannot be used like that. Evolution can only be applied in one particular fork of evolution, aka sex.

But eitherway, we're in an age where we've transcended evolution if we wish to. We can change our genetics at will given the technology we have. Morally and ethically there is no reason to object to homosexuality, the only reasons there are are predjudice, fear and lack of knowledge. And only the latter two are acceptable.

Eitherway you cant label them all bad, I think a recent figure was 1/10 people are gay. And you shouldnt think of it so rigidly, we're all bisexual, just to different levels with only likes women at one end and only likes men at the other, of which very very few of us are situated (though most of us deny it and say we are).

I happen to know some homosexuals! I find that attitued very offencive, middle age (i mean 1300 ad not... 35-45) and, to put it bluntly, mean. Are you that bound up in preconceptions of homosexuality that you are that revulted by them! I find that not only bizzare, but revulting as well!

Yes the UK or america or russia or china attempted to fire there nuclear arsenals, they'd still have the problem of mutually assured annihilation. The nuclear powers off this world understand the implications of nuclear war and the threat of extinction it poses. Any war is likely to use conventional weaponry, nuclear weaponry would be the ultimate last resort. Besides war on that scale is too expensive to be considered nowadays.
