I have discovered what appears to be a bug. T1 Construction Ships move slower (about half speed) when they are given a build order. It doesn't seem like any other construction-capable naval vessels have this problem. Here's a combination of two screenshots that illustrate this. The ships from top to bottom are ARMCS ordered to build a tidal, ARMCS ordered to move, CORCS ordered to build a tidal, and CORCS ordered to move.

Yes, it is BA 5.8. I don't think it's deliberate, though, for the following reasons:

1. It's useless micro. Having to click move before building to have your con ship move faster than a Goliath isn't a mark of skill, it's just annoying.
2. No other constructors seem to have the same behavior.
3. It doesn't make any sense in terms of realism either.

Yep - I can confirm this behaviour...

WTF

How did I miss *that*. I've always noticed that con-ships seem to move slowly... but yet they always seem to keep up with battle-groups if they're coming along for repairs. Never put 2 and 2 together.

Probably because a lot of games lag to hell anyway, so it's hard to tell speeds in isolation. I only noticed because one game I had a CS going to build a hovercraft platform and another ship with a normal move order moving in the same direction, whereupon I realized one was moving ridiculously slower than the other.

btw 5.8 plays rly nicely, core is evil now at t2 as it should be. Microed golis are so scary now when ppl dont approach them correctly

Well some Core unit are OP so it was just a matter of time until they get fixed. I'm especially looking at the Sumo (which will be fixed) and imo still the Juggernaut - I just don't like its recent stats, they are just ridiculous...

Well tbh i haven't yet seen a Juggernaut survive long enough to do serious damage (except from one or two Greenfields games), he is just to slooooowww :D
Still not sure the Sumo has to be nerfed, but if it's going to be maybe it would be enough to just put him in the Krogoth armor class? So he would get more damage from Penetrators, Annis/DDMs and Snipers...of course he still should be emp-able though (or maybe not? :D) .
BTW i'm curious...what else Core units are seen as OP atm? I hope not Gollie, Reaper or Krow, they have just become so fine imho :(

Stiletto can cause an enemy land force to grind a halt. There is no way to attack on land vs EMP bombers, as they will drop their bombs before your mobile AA can even shoot at them (And then once your AA is paralyzed, keep hitting you indefinitely).

Luckily, not many people use them, esp ATM since Air (and to a degree, Arm) is 'out of vogue' (mostly due to flare changes and land buffs).

Oh, as a side note: Please 'avoidfriendly=0' on D-gun. I want to be able to d-gun my own units (Since you can do it anyway if you aim in the right spot).
