Balanced Annihilation V5.8

Making ZAZ is probally not hard, but i really lack the time and motivation to make them. So if you Think you have cool explosions which would fit BA and would get approved by day/me ( so no uber zomfg super mega flashy effects). Make a mutator of BA, show it to me, release it in a way i can use it every way i want, and i don't get trapped into licences.
If all these criteria are matched, THEN there is a SLIM chance that it COULD get included in BA.
About Gameplay innovation, that is really NOT what BA is about.
BA is about to become a stable mod, so ppl can actually learn the mod, instead of a new mod every 3 weeks.
All this may sound arrogant, but i think Quality Control of consistety is really important.
Also sorry for all the spelling errors =)

And making you look really dumb with what he said...Sleksa wrote:noize 4 rescue <3
At any rate noize. It is a 1 liner to add a CEG to your weapons. It'll be up to you to add them.
customexplosiongenerator:whatevermyexplosionisnamed;
All the effects in funta are under smoths "CC - do whatever you want just say where they came from" license.
Copy the bitmaps folder and the gamedata/explosions folder.
It's quite self explanatory once you look at it.
Actually Forboding you are the one looking like an idiot TBH. Slek may be showing no respect but you are the one who, despite repeatedly being told, fails to grasp what slek is saying, repeatedly contradicting your own arguments.Forboding Angel wrote:http://youtube.com/watch?v=DGbiKDvSL-8Sleksa wrote: now get out and make some explosions and show them to noize, because im not going to do them just because you want to

Sleksa, I am content with letting you continually embarrass yourself, you sound like a complete idiot.
Thank god you were not one of our ancestors. "We don't need to innovate the wheel, we can carve them just as easily from stone!"
Basically, slek tells truth, that's all there is to it. Why persist? Like he says, you've got your own mod and others to suggest/implement "innovation" in.
Is it simply that you want your mod/effects/ideas to be the mainstream, most played, and the only way left you can see to achieve this is to try and manipulate BA into what you'd like it to be?
Sorry but aint gonna happen. I'm not against the idea of better effects - not even remotely, but it's pretty obvious to me and I accept that it's very unlikely to happen (or work for that matter).

^^^ THat's why DemO
Need I mention the countless times Noize has badgered me to death about things in my maps?
CA has already pretty much offered a fork on a plate, which is BA with CA effects. It got turned down IIRC, and never got off the ground.
This is one example why it's unlikely to be any different for anyone else.
This isn't even a discussion/argument anymore anyway. From what I'm reading, it's basically just "lets post until the other guy stops and I've won" without actually considering/taking in anything that's been said, (or typed, if you want to be entirely specific).
So far as gameplay innovation goes, that is for other mods. Clearly gameplay in BA is good enough that it doesnt need to be innovated (since the majority of the playerbase plays only this mod). If this is not the case, then people are too lazy/unwilling to try something new, in which case it's your job to encourage them.
NOT BA's job to change because the minority think it should. BA does have a semblance of care for the community, but not remotely in any sort of democratic form. Make a suggestion by all means, just don't expect it to be implemented like it would have been by Caydr back in the AA days.
Noize makes a great point about BA being a mod which players can learn without it changing every 2-3 weeks. It will stay that way. A dynamic mod that changes from month to month is not the intention, as has been said HUNDREDS of times now. No amount of badgering the devs or people who influence the devs is going to change that.

I think some people in this thread should focus on their own mods and not on BA. This should be a place to post bugs and for expert players to post balance suggestions (though that's usually handled via PM with Noize anyways). I think sleksa should be allowed to troll anyone who posts outside of these guidelines in this thread, as I need some luls when I get home from a hard days work.

Best version of BA was like the very 1st, and 2nd release of it after converting from AA 2.23 to BA.
Ba just seems to get more "unbalanced" as it goes along.
IMO something has gotten lost inbetween then and now, and if there weren't some serious problems, people wouldn't be voicing their opinions about it now would they?

Why even have a thread then??LordMatt wrote:I think some people in this thread should focus on their own mods and not on BA. Once your forums come back up you guys can do all of that there...
hell have entrance onto the forum require you to 1v1 one of the "expert players" that way you guys can weed out the nubs.
and Forb it great that your championing the "Effects for All" cause but your wasting your time here... For everyone's sake go back and work on your Mod-Formerly-Called-FunTA

i dont see how new weapons fx could possibly hurt BA in any way. all i see is fear of change, something that sadly affects so much of the spring community, by this i mean the fact that people refuse to even try new maps and mods out, or if they do it simply turns into "this isnt BA, wtf am i playing it for?" or "that map isnt DSD, im not gonna play it"j5mello wrote:and Forb it great that your championing the "Effects for All" cause but your wasting your time here... its actually SAD. it brings up the "why bother?" question. why bother developing new mods/games for spring? why bother creating new maps? why bother creating nicer models? why even bother to develop the engine itself?
resistance to change, for resistances sake, stunts the development of the spring community as a whole. for gods (whichever deity that may be) sake, if you cannot be more open minded, let someone else in.
