True..

Like I said before, if making a game meant changing numbers and leaving it, I would not be trying to do that right now. It leaves no room for creativity and enjoyment.

Why watch other peoples crap blow stuff up when it could be your own?

Gameplay is the most important part of any game and that's pretty much all "changing numbers".

Good for you, but that is not the point of BA.

i resent the fact that my mod was grouped with "pretty" mods and not balanced ones...

If I had time on my hands I would traul back through the BA thread(s) and find you a truckload of examples of "LOZL LETZ STEALS" but sadly Im not tired
I think by 'involved with BA' he means 'BA development' not 'BA fanboi'.

I think all the CA dev team, at least. actively encourages BA to steal from them AFAIK. Its the BA devs who arent interesting.

Not really. The game balance is numbers but the basic game design and rules is a lot of code as well.

I know, it's not balanced and certainly not very pretty yet...

No, gameplay is even more than changing numbers. Much more.
Wiki wrote:Gameplay includes all player experiences during the interaction with game systems
Balance is number crunching, gameplay is interaction and experiences, which means sight as well. Now, for something to interact with the player, the player has to use it some way.

So, lets do some proofs, eh...

If Snipa maek unit, unit will be built and used by player, if unit is used and built by player, then unit is interacted with by player.

Snipa maek unit
Unit is built and used by player
Player is interacting with unit

I've achieved the result of "gameplay". So, yes, gameplay IS the most important part. While balancing is boring, it is essential, while graphics are fun, they are not.

It depends on how you take it.

cause numbers are all there is to game balance.

Like you know giving a unit a 180 degree fire arc with a slower fire weapon and all other units having a 210-180 firing arc. Or what about a unit that has most of it's fire arc on the LEFT side(not number)

Hang on, wait a tick those are still just number tweaks.. how about units that move faster in water instead of slower? or OH I don't know something that cannot fire while moving? how about the aim speed of a unit in the script file? or perhaps the ability to fire faster when in water? Or oh I don't know the ability to zip right up terrain instead of being slowed down by it..

nah that is all just playing with fbi files.

Tech trees don't matter, nor does the over all distrubution of artillery or bombers. We need all that at tech level 1. Oh and nukes because something that takes a long time to build = balance.

When i see 500 flash collide to each other while avengers are dogfighting in the sky and berthas are shooting at unknown targets over a grey metal graveyard that has forgotten scouts and constructors roaming around, i see beauty.

no better graphics can do it to me, no better explosions cant give me the same feeling than hundreds and hundreds of tanks and mechs fighting with pure hate and anger towards each other, you can practically hear the commanders spit out "DIE CORE VERMIN" when the game starts, there is no backing off now, no quarter given nor asked, the mission is clear and there are no rules, for each side the only acceptable outcome is the annihilation of the other.

you can either like it not, but if you cant see the beauty of ta you do not appreciate art and i will hate you for it

No shit, that is because it is epic. You can replicate that in any game or any mod.

Ta had different explosions with lots of colorful and bright effects. Sorry that you have forgotten this.

so.. it would be absolutely impossible to add any effects...

its also impossible to achieve balance and have flashy effects..

the two are mutually exclusive.. therefore.. we can have cake, or we can eat cake that we dont have.. we cannot eat and have cake..

again.. the logic here is stupid and nonsensical..

you BA hardcore nuts can come back when you have an argument that makes any damn sense...
