[6:01:59 PM] <[LCC]KingRaptor> epic fail
[6:02:10 PM] <[LCC]KingRaptor> fail on a level that man can barely begin to comprehend
[6:02:32 PM] <[LCC]KingRaptor> fail so badly it makes George W. Bush look good

Watch the battle if you like, otherwise fast forward to 25:18 when det and Saktoth drop from the game. Lol @ the next (and last) five minutes.

I think you can only skip forwards, but I'm not sure of the details.

Looks like he was too busy on his end, seeing as that guy was the only one moving out to attack, doesn't pay attention, just watches his teamates side of the map being dominated, finally realised that everyone on his team left.

Got frustrated, said.. lol fuck it, (too tired, or doesn't realise that he's winning), doesn't want to bother, and self D's because he would rather play with teamates than by just himself handling 4 bases..

Not surprising IMO.

It gets overwhelming when you're the only guy playing on your team to start with, then everyone bails on you.

I don't blame him at all.

Argh det. Bladewings go on move or fight orders, not patrol orders! Patrol fucks up with EMP weapons. :(

That was the first time i tried that whole amphib-for-croc-and-poison-arrow thing. I messed it up so bad.

The interface of the game really should make it clear that one of your teammates has dropped and you can take.

Seriously, the game gives NO indication that he's dropped. Then to take you have to type a console command.

Don't make fun of the player for this, this one is the fault of poor software usability.

The dropped player's name disappears from the .info board

and it's not like the console commands are as complicated as HL or something comparible, you don't have to open some obscure console, you just put a '.' infront of the command. If there are specs in the game they tend to shout also.

That being said, ya, the interface still isn't great and could do to be better.

WRONG. There will be a message in the chatlog that a player has dropped ~.~

I like it as it is, since better players usually spot it first and they take the units.

Which will quickly scroll by in a manner of seconds, then be lost from view forever.

Seriously, there should be a big floating blob of text saying "Your teammate has dropped! Click here to take his units." There's no reason large games should regularly have a player drop without being taken for minutes at a time.

Well, I've spammed the chat before as spec and had no one take. You really think it's a problem of people not realizing a player has dropped as opposed to people just not wanting to .take because of the extra work and responsibility they have? I know when I notice someone drop I generally wait to see if someone else will take first...

I played something like an 8v8 com ends altored game today, and 2 players dropped at the same time right near the start

SO MUCH POWAH. I love it when people drop. Sometimes i wish my whole team would drop and just leave me their stuff.

Yeah. After one or two takes, however, I start to feel a little stretched.

Nah, its only really bad when you are fighting on two opposite sides of the map at once.

In the game of Altored i mentioned, i had one com pushing on the left with a vech fac pumping riot rank/missile truck, and another com on the right pushing with LLT's, and a third com behind their lines up on the hill making kbots.

Now thats hectic.

Someone I know made an auto-take widget that fires whenever someone drops. If he'd show back up one of these days, I'd steal it for Tired Annihilation and fix the problem mod-scale. As CA seems to've cornered the market for active widget makers, however, and since this post revolves around the CA clan... 2+2=9.

If its included with the mod, then who gets the stuff? Whoever has his gadget fire off first?

Not an optimum solution, especially if he doesnt notice (players routinely dont notice they've been given things).
