I was chatting to [UoY]ElCapitano earlier about my new rig and how the performance in Spring is diabolical compared to other games. He suggested I make a program setting in the nvidia control panel to turn off threaded optimizations in Spring so I went ahead and tried it out
Nvidia users might want to consider using nHancer. It can alter the default nVidia profiles as well as add new ones so you don't have to turn the multi-threaded stuff on and off all the time. It's much better for quickly changing driver settings as well.

Or you can just use the default nvidia control panel profiles and turn off auto threading optimizations specifically for spring.exe

It modifies the default profiles in the registry.
You also can't access them in the new panel and the old one sorta doesn't work anymore after activating it once and clicking some random button, forgot which. :P

Btw, that never works for me, as the setting is never saved.

Well I have to admit, turning off the multithreaded thingo sure does the trick.

Still not 100% impressed with the FPS considering my rig, but at least its not as woeful as it was.

thanks for the details guys.
