When can we expect an update?

Post by MR.D »

All the LUAUI stack crashes and glitches are getting really frustrating.

Its getting really difficult to complete a game nowadays with the odds that LUAUI and those problems along side it will crash a game.

Combine that with the bugs like commanders not being able to dgun through wreckage, and the LOS issues with guns, and the twitchy behavior of ballistic weapons.

please release an update soon :D

LUAUI stack crashes? not sure what they are but i use tons of LUA widgets and never have problems. maybe linux only problem?

the only times we have games not complete (windows LAN) is when an AI crashes the server right at the start, and that's usually fixed by proper config..

updates are always nice though! :)
looking forward to being able to choose start position with bots most of all.

Except of LuaUI crash that remains unidentified (only a workaround exists), all of the things you whine^Wcomplain about are fixed 8)

And you can choose start positions for bots..

Just start with choose in game, enter /cheat, go through all bots with /team #, place their positions and before starting, go back to your own team and disable cheating by typing /cheat again..

Works like a charm..

I had a LUA problem hardcore a few days ago playing BA on DSD... but I'm too noob to understand what was going on =/. I just had a ton of error messages to the point where I could not read messages from anyone ingame

it's a memory/stack corruption problem, those messages are hopelessly useless. Type /luaui reload if your game didn't crash, it will likely fix the problem.

Thats what Im talking about, when LUAUI breaks, and floods error messages in the chat box.

At that point, you're GUI is disabled, and about 50% of the time, it crashes my game.

And I don't use Linux.

I think they are just better cloaked ;)

They dont spam error messages any more. Sometimes you can see a sync error in just one line "sync eror bla bla". I dont know if spring finally manages to resync or if the game is just out of sync without any further sync message...

Most of the desyncs seem to be fixed.. There are still some occuring but the spammy messages were reduced..

ye sync errors are really rare now... actually i have never seen complete desync (where 50% of ppl desync) in new ver. Congrats. I also binded /luaui reload to backspace so this is helping too. It only hurts when game crashes cause of lua.

Did they just hide the messages, or was it really fixed? i wondered that when i saw first sync error, and it didnt flood like in old versions... o_O

But yeah, some update would be nice, so i could start playing again.

I have not seen a desync at all. Tm, if there was desync happening and they just hid the message you would know.

No, they're just very very rare, and very very bad.

I had a game on comet two nights ago where one person desynced, and them leaving caused another desync, and then them leaving caused 3 more people to desync. Chain reaction dominoes of dewm!

Maybe that means they hidded those desyncs, and showed only few of them to cause less panic?

A new feature in 0.75 was it only showed the sync error once in a chat box for each player.

*sighs* yes it is a conspiracy.

trademark I think tombom means that the desyncs that are the same desync repeating are not scrolled non-stop
