Spring units of measurement

Post by FLOZi »

in TA weapons used pixels and pixels/sec etc (though unit MaxVelocity was in 1/12m/s  )

I was wondering what Spring units were and if they had any relation to any real world measurements?

All I know is that "get UNIT_HEIGHT(...)" doesn't return the same size in Spring and TA.

just try looking at the trees, and measure with that..

i'd say a k-bot is the size of a medium gear.. from heavy gear.

krogoth.. well that would be a mech from mechwarrior.

lvl 1 tanks would be the size of a tank nowadays.

level 1 tanks are not as long as conventional tanks IMO.

if i remember correctly back in ota, the little car and truck rubble from the urban features set showed the scale to be pretty large. peewees can step on semi trucks, korgoths are more like, godzillas.

I think Flozi was asking for a more technical answer than that.

And cars and buildings are just as ambiguous as trees in terms of estimating the size of TA units, given that it is set so far in the future, and on multiple planets.
