It's a fantastic design, really, but it just doesn't fit with the TA aesthetic, or the particular ethos of either of the sides. It's far too graceful and organic in form.
reason A-
the models in OTA are extremely low poly, and thus, came out very, very, very "blocky"....

look at the cinemagraphics (the movies) that are with TA. there is a HUGE HUGE difference, and most of the units are supposed to have a much more "soft" feel....

not all of them are flat, pointy, and blocky.

That may be so, but there is still a design aesthetic behind the TA unit designs, and I don't think this is following it.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great design, and I think it would work great with another race, or a another mod. It just doesn't strike me as falling within the same industrial/grunge aesthetic that the TA units do.

Agree with what your saying Zsinj, but it may of been more due to limitations at the time, and how people have since interpreted rather than what they had originally in mind - to much reading between the lines :)

Redoing any of the origional content is a very delicate task, and IMO a near impossible one.

Especially in the area of textures with using s30 making them look like the originals is crazy..

Even with my Core Commander cinema style model, and my Arm solar that I redid, they were very nice and closely resembled the OTA models, but hardly accepted by the community.

Adding in new content that is in style of TA units, but something completely new and fresh is also tricky buisness, because you have to retain the style and appearance of each side, and then try to match the textures style and colors as well.

Indeed.

It didn't even have the core logo on it.

We'd be very happy to use new, better models in CA, even if they clash with the original ones. You gotta start from somewhere...
