FPS HUD

Hullo chaps, working on a vid atm and i'd like to graft this:

My best bet would be asking Trepan. I don't think that we've got an ingame hud widget floating around.

im not after an actual widget, just the picture itself in .jpg .bmp .tga or whatever format, i'll just graft it over the top :P

asked trepan in the lobby but he seems afk :(

I think we did but it was for an ancient API version.

so do you want to model the interior of every single kbot and vehicle, or use that interior for all of them?

It'll just be grafted over 10 seconds of video, i just need the actual picture file, no lua or anything else like that...

failing that i might have to fire up MS paint and make a really awful looking one :P

Promo videos shouldn't be edited to add effects that aren't yet ingame imo.

As for trepans hud, I can't offer any advice except for asking him...
But I can give you one I ripped. :-)

You can black out the laser/missle icons I guess, or w/e you want.

Why did you rip it to 1024x768? The original was at 320x240.

Looks more like some scaler was used (dosbox + scaler), probably hqx3 or some other x3 one.

I just stuck it over an FPS clip... looks surprisingly good tbh.. ^^

No, D2X-XL has the ability for high resolutions in descent. I ripped the HUD using that.

EDIT: Laser lvl 14?! What hax were you using? :shock:

Descent Manager would be my guess. By cheating the laser levels to be values >6 you can make them fire all kinds of weapons. Mercury or Earthshaker laser? Or flare laser for lulz?
