installed new KAI ai according to instructions in Wiki but game just kicks out saying "incorrect global ai....."

is out of date, look in the AI subforum for
more recent information (the KAIK thread
would be a good place to start).
2) Your crash was caused by the mod you
were playing (XTA v9), so that is what you
should update. I only told you to update
KAI as well because 0.12 is an old version,
but it was not the AI that crashed your game.
3) You are not the first to experience this
issue, that's why your report was closed
"without actually checking" (it has already
been fixed by the people in charge of XTA).

will update XTA when I can get through.
i can only seem to find version 0.11 of KAI at present, and appreciate your feedback as it has helped to make it clear.
