Startup energy & metal

Post by Kharan »

How do I set them? It's probably something very simple I missed :-) . No fun with 900000 energy.

start with the 100 energy script, or manually edit the script and feed it to spring.exe *script.txt* it'll ahve the script for the last multiplayer game you played.

Thanks for the help! Can you tell me what to do exactly? All the scripts seem to start with the same resources (20k metal, 900k energy), even the "Cmdrs with 1000 res" one.

Apparently I need to edit a map's .smd file, but how do I set the startup resources? I found maxmetal, but that's no use.

Everytime you play multiplayer the engien recieves or sends a file called script.txt which contains ifnromation on the game such as what side your on where you start and what resources you get.

Just goto script.txt and change the values then drag it onto spring.exe

Nope, I see no script.txt before, during or after the game. My opponent doesn't have it either.

There are some .sdf and .ssf files in the main Spring folder, but they're just gibberish. Any further help?

ps. To developers: this should really be in the FAQ ;)

A script.txt is created the first time you launch the game from the battleroom.

So to get the file you have to install the multiplayer lobby software? I was just playing Spring directly with my friend.

I'd appreciate it if someone uploaded the file somewhere. And yes, it should *really* come with the core game files.
