Congrats to both meltrax and satirik, very good job. I was quite impressed to see maplist and rules in lobby client :-)

Yeah great job Meltrax.

About the list of map, is there any plan to add/remove some of them? Like a comity, or some poll each week. ( For example, does supreme battlefield really suited for 1v1 ? Or speedmetal shouldn't only belong to the speedmetal ladder ? ).
The poll each week to add a new map and remove an another could create a cool shift and can help to discover some forbiden great map.

On the last matches pages, replay link aren't here anymore ? Oh and for the minimap, it would be better to link to the download of the map instead of the bigger minimap.
( like that if you see a intresting replay, you can quickly pick the map too)

Sorry, I had to do some RL stuff the last weeks and I still have to do some other projects.. But maybe I'll work a bit on the ladder site again..

Thx :)

At the moment there is no plan to make a poll or something like that.. Only admins (see help page) can add maps and at the moment noone can remove them :P..

We are planning, however, to bring back the old map of the week feature so that underplayed maps get played a bit more.. It hasn't been done yet because of the closed Elo system but I think we will add it anyway..

The links should be there.. It's only that the replay upload doesn't quite work yet because it would be uploaded to the replay site multiple times.. And since the next Spring release will see some improvements for the replay format I won't change anything concerning replays until then..

True.

Is the mapname (smf) not unique? I think it is since there is no hash in the script.txt.. I guess I could add the hash from ArchiveCacheV4.txt or UF but I don't really know what for..

The file names are not unique. Map makers have a horrendous track record for updating things correctly.

How does Spring know which map it should use then?

CRC hashes sent across during connection. If they mismatch then the game exits and a message box pops up saying your map and the hosts differs.

The lobby is also supposed to set you as out of sync however betalord removed map hash checking ages ago and I don't remember why.

Actually you can use different maps and you desync.

I seem unable to add maps at this point for a different reason than before, an XML parsing error on page-load?

Apparently I'm no longer a super administrator...

I'm setting up two more ladders, Mel, and it might be easier if I still had all the tools to make them myself. Also, how does it handle version to version changes?

Hey, Mel, I'm going to be adding five ladders soon, and none of you Superadmin lads seem to be on.

What kind of ladders do you wanna add?

You do know that most of them don't have any players atm?

Well, they do have players, but currently would have few battles. However, if I generate them now and add admins I can launch tournaments upon the next engine release.

+1

rules:
1) report on mantis, must be approved by a dev
2) must include: detailed steps to reproduce, infolog, stacktrace from stacktraceTranslator (if it's a crash), demo file (if it's behavorial / hard to reproduce by hand), which OS, which SVN version.

no points if the steps to reproduce don't work

bonus points if it includes a patch
penalty points if the patch itself appears broken later :-)
bonus points for regressions (test that it works in 0.75b2 but is broken in SVN)

Apparently...

Code: Select all

[3:40:19 PM] <Boirunner> adding maps is buggy
[3:40:20 PM] <Boirunner> "Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting ')' in /home/league/public_html/ladder/libraries/ladder.php(7) : eval()'d code on line 1"
[3:40:28 PM] <Boirunner> "Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/league/public_html/ladder/content/AAdmin/AAdd maps.php on line 46"
Again.

Also, lads, if you REALLY want a bug-catching tournament, I can run one!
