We're not in a low poly topic but it would be nice if you could provide the poly count of the models you show.

Here's a Soundwave model I was working on until I realized how little talent I had at texturing (or interest in improving :P )

2/3/2 and whopping 8 shots of ammo, if I remember correctly :D But the name is a good clue towards the only environment it was even remotely useful in.

Jesus that was long ago :o Why do i remember crap like that, but I can never recall what year my mother was born?

Hmm.

The AC/20 version makes it useful at least. Kinda like a fire and forget weapon. :P

In this thread we talk about 3d models.

Needs.. something more. Not keen on the barrel, esp since it fires a ballistic projectile and not a laser.

Needs something on the front. Try shaping the front of the treads down a little, and making the body of the tank less flat over the top. It has bumps, true, but most of the bumps are flat as well.

The sides of the body look weird-

I like the sides, and the turret (though perhaps it isn't very ballistic) - but I agree with mael, and think that the tracks in their current state are a little lacklustre, and need some more shaping of form to get them to give the tank more character.

F.ex, try seperating the tracks from the track shields, and then shape the track shields in a certain way to give it a more dyanamic/bulky (whatever you're looking for) form.

Alternatively, you could remove the tracks entirely and give it big vtol-style thrusters, or something similar to the bf2142 tanks. Might not be appropriate/what you're looking for though.

Contoured the tracks (Probably a pretty good idea), put more interest on the front inbetween the tracks, new turret, made some stuff more 'angular'.

I like the old turret more and love all the other changes.

Sup guys... I just made my first modelish; an Arwing from Starfox :P. It's just the fuselage so far and I based it off the box cover of the 64 game.
Image
Couldn't figure out how do export it right in wings so I frapsd it...

Anyway, do you guys know of a good place for some open source textures, I want to put a better looking metal texture on it. The one in place was a 5 minute addition to see what it'd look like and figure out UV mapping a bit better, but the cover has like metal on it:

Any tips without completely derailing the thread?

EDIT: Err just noticed I missed an edge by the rear vents, fixed it :P

EDIT: Redid texture a bit, still working on it...
