Assigning CTRL+C to any unit after commander is dead
Yeah, it feels annyoing when i press as a reflex CTRL+C, even when my commander is dead, but i still have some builders left, ive always wanted to set that CTRL+C to any unit after my commander is dead. Feels more comfortable when it selects my only builder, instead of doing nothing.
I wish CTRL_C would somewhat follow the Category=.... CTRL_C; FBI tags personnaly. Though maybe that'd conflict with "Selectionkeys editor". Maybe define planes, commander, etc... by having CTRL_C, CTRL_V, etc.. in their Category tag instead of whatever criteria is used now? That way modders can more choose how their units are sorted, say for instance if they need a hover to be a slow low plane for technical reason but still appearing as a hover to the user?
Remembering the existence of "Selectionkeys editor" just gave me the idea, maybe TradeMark request could be generalised into adding some sort of "if-exist" command in the "Selectionkeys editor" syntax?

nonononoo... it must be simple, no mod depended crap or whatsoever. what im wanting here, is that i can replace my dead commander with another "commander", because when i lose my commander, i dont have good way to go there where im currently paying most attention... that means im using my only builder in that area, which is my current "commander" at that moment.
so what could be done is, some shortkey which adds any unit to the CTRL+C command in game, if my commander is dead. that shortkey could be like CTRL+SHIT+C... and that would add selected unit to the CTRL+C command... then i would feel much more comfortable again :)

F3 does that... and i dont want to look to the action area, i just want to follow one single unit, like i followed commander before it died...j5mello wrote:just a minor question but if u use control groups (or don't) wouldn't it be easier to just use them to focus on an action area than something this well... odd.
