Steam Fight

Post by Neddie »

In case anybody has been tricked by this before, or hasn't yet encountered it, there is a host who runs games with all advanced power sources deactivated but doesn't inform you outside of the title of the game, which is usually too long to be seen from lobby but culminates in some variation on "Steam Fight !!111One"

Since I was pulled on this, I feel it necessary to explain what a steam fight is, because if you don't know - and the host won't tell you - you're in for a dirty, unhappy game.

On general principle I would steer away from this host, but if you're interested in a new form of play and don't mind the level of deception practiced by the host, join up and take the other team to town. It's an interesting variation.

maybe you need to claim territory to make more room for your massive solar farms?

Tech 2 energy structures are very cost efficient... that means with then a metal maker economy is more profitable...

Well im not meaning to promote it... im against it even. I think, tough, that with less efficient energy structures you have less efficient metal makers economy and thus capturing mexes become more atractive... the space thing might have influence too :)

less efficient energy structures -> less energy -> less MM -> need to expand more to cap mex

only efficient energy is geo -> need to expand more to cap geos

need more room to spam wind/solar farms -> need to expand more to get room to spam farms

OH WAIT GUYS

Reminds me of Gundam. Near the end of a match I have large parts of the map covered in econ.

most of the "good" players use solar/wind farms anyway, try to download mine or daywalker's or randy's replays from the league/replay site and see for yourself.

adv.solars/geos are rarely seen, while metal maker based economy is seen . . . never?

energy gain is already quite well balanced, despite what you may think of.

talk about encouraging expansion is a sign of a noob. capping mexes should be the ultimate goal in your game right after winning.

calculate the efficiency between a structure that gives +2.8 metal for -3 energy and a structure that gives +1 metal for -80 energy, while using solar based energy econ to power yourself.

that means you need _1_ solar to power 6 metal extractors.
that means you need _4_ solar to power _1_ metal maker.

im not good at maths but i'd guess that the metal maker based economy is clearly better.

see the need for expansion? oh right there is none since ba is made for noobs only. since all you need to do is
[WG]Maiq> BA isnt a mod <[WG]Maiq> BA is just garbage <[WG]Maiq> Build kbot factory, make 300 weasel
right?

need more room to spam wind/solar farms -> need to expand more to get room to spam farms
is not a issue , you need like 300 solars in game to actually need room to spam more, with the exception of metal heck and other smaller maps.

funny how you yet again say that im flaming everyone in this topic when it was nobody from the beginning.

yeah i am right, i admit it ;) this gameplay sounds fun. taking something out of the gameplay and seeing how it changes the gameplay is pretty nice idea. what if we'd limit all land out and use only air in a team-game? ideas like that are fun to try out imo.

all of you arent stupid ass noobs and dont know shit, in fact i think you are the only one here who came into this topic just to flame , like you've done in other threads where i've posted too, trying to sound witty and failing pretty horribly ;/
because all the things we just said are all PURE BS. pure bs. ;)
not all the things WE just said.

its,

all the things YOU just said.
