Hi,

I posted at the "Random WIP"-Topic a screenshot from a Queen, maybe someone had wonder for what this model is, here is the answer:

It is for a mod based on Starcraft and Total Annihilation.
The unit types are mostly provided from Starcraft and the game type is provided from Total Annhilation.
This means you will have the look from Starcraft and hundreds of Units that are fighting against each other.
Currently I only planning to create two races: The humans with low unit count, but with high fire power and the aliens with huge and fast attack waves.

I know, I´m not good at explaining a mod :? .
If you have question ask them.

Why I´m writing this down?: I need so support for this mod. I´m a programmer, not some one who makes models. I can make models, but which models don´t look very good. Same for UVMaps and so on.
This does not mean I will give only orders how to do things. I will help an support the mod where I can. If you are interested you can contact me over icq/msn/pm or go to the irc channel for springlobby. Any help is welcome.

Yeah, 100% it will be. Huge and fast zergling attacks against a massive defense of marines, bunkers, tanks and mines. Big explosions with a huge amount of zergling blood :twisted: .

good idea. but i think need to contrive more many new units..because th SC unit type is very limited, no ships/submarines. howercrafts etc... and this is in 3 side. but good luck !!!

Yes, but at first Starcraft provides enough unit types to create a small nice mod.

Small and carmialised goodness, Or hardcandy good...

Hope this turns out good, Hopeful that some of the 'Zerg' units will have Really good hill toilerance and Speed going up that.

Ninja Strike! or zergyness strike...?

Well, This ought to rock when the gets to the first beta.

But remember Your not confined by Starcraft only it's 'Based' on it not a clone.

I am at the ' Never modded in his life' stage of skill :p

I can 'Attempt' Moddleing (CURSED SPELLING) in Wings, But I mostly sucky at the moment :p

But other wise I can try making a tank, and maybe a radar, But don't expect much.

But other then that I can help with testing.

I´m not at this stage, but this my first spring mod and my modelling skills are very new.
If you know how a Starcraft tank looks like, you can try to make one. Or take something easier like a bunker or the anti-air missile turret.

I don´t know if I will include a radar. It is more fun if a enemy (human race) don´t know that a huge wave of zerglings is moving forward to his base than: "Oh look ha, the enemy will attack me in the next minute at this position lets move some tanks there."

I play Starcraft my self, So I can attempt the Uber Flatten cube tank of doom.

If this goes through Need to get a good frame for what You (we?) are gonna do.

It'd make sense if the Humans had some sort of air born scout that can be useful in most cases, Other wise mix it in with your attack teams to get some needed extra LOS while tanks and other heavy units have crappy LOS.

Also you can have the Merines have Half good LOS so they don't suck alone on the battle field.

If I do some thing like write down all of my idea's I really ought to write it down in a Document, Much easyer to Edit and such.

I just downloaded Wing's again and I am sure I can find some concept art, And try to make one of my own to figure out how to make it look right. whoo art. Now off to attempt to grind my Art skill up.

Yeah, I thought the same about the los.
Scouts for getting informations is better than big ranged radars. It gives more tactics and a more realistic feeling.

I think we need a place where we can host/share the concept/model/texture/script files.
Hm, maybe sourceforge.net or a simple webspace host, what do you think?

Edit:
And if you have nothing against open source, I would prefer to keep the mod under a open source license like GPL. This would give us the authorization to "steal" scripts from CA or over open source mods. And peoples on without TA can play this mod, too.

you do not have to put it as gpl to allow people to play it.

nor do you have to be gpl for ca content which is public domain and most of the stuff I release is Creative commos, meaning you only have to point people to the files and toss me some props

gpl is a touchy thing around here.

smoth: I know that I don´t need to gpl it to allow playing it. But I can not use TA content. Because there are people without TA and I want that every one can play it.

And if some one feels he need a model or a script he can take it, the same way as we can take something from a over project which allows it to us.
Developing process is then much more faster and easier.

And I respect your work smoth, it is great and takes lot of time.

Lawl At the Steal bit.

Well I am fine with GPL, I thought that was required useing the engine but ah well, GPL all the way.

I also so far got a cruddy looking Bunker, two Solids.

I will try a tank after I get the hang of my Wings, I will attempt to also make a Air scout, The Idea for what it looks like is that Its gonna look like a Small un-manned VOTL ship, Tell me if you want it with a small harassing gun or not?

Along the lines that they will be a tad hard to 'rush' and the so called Aliens depending if that have anti air aliens or not.

Thinking of this, Maybe we ought to make a new thread after we get a solid name for said game, Other wise there might be some problems.

Is cone of damage possible? I want it to hit the zerglings with LARGE shotgun shells and have a good ways back get damaged.

Now that I look at it I really ought to make it look more tank'y it kinda looks like a Death buggy, Need Larger treads and such.
