I am way more offended by this than i probably should be, but seriously, Britain has a thriving micro brewery industry, and as the majority of us don't even have national distribution, i severely doubt you have tasted many english ales.SwiftSpear wrote:English suck at beer TBH.
Our national brewers aren't awesome, but Youngs, Black Sheep and Adnams all make kick ass pints imo, and Newcastle Brown Ale is one of the best selling beers worldwide.
Then again, there are all those awesome canadian beers, like... erm....

Sleemans, A. Keets come to mind. Molson and Kokane tend to be way above their low end counterparts as well. I'm not gonna claim we can trump the belguns, but if Englands #1 is Newcastle we've beaten you :)pintle wrote:I am way more offended by this than i probably should be, but seriously, Britain has a thriving micro brewery industry, and as the majority of us don't even have national distribution, i severely doubt you have tasted many english ales.SwiftSpear wrote:English suck at beer TBH.

Newcastle beer tastes like nothing for the price you pay for it.
Canada is known for it's beer TBH...
Newcy' broon is one of the cheapest "ales" (doesn't really deserve that name imo) available in the uk, I mentioned it because apparently it has a massive market in the USA.SwiftSpear wrote:Sleemans, A. At the great british beer festival last week (free tickets with work ^^) I didn't actually see any canadian beers on the international stand, despite my extensive "testing" of the beers on offer.
I'm not trying to infer canadian beer sucks at all, just i really cannot abide you saying we suck at making beer

Do you know if the beers you mentioned get exported? I'm pretty nerdy about beer, would like to try them if i can find em in the UK.
